there is a video on yt..not concerning the EK ..but it is at a concert... it is called( the video) " the dutch sure know how to party" it shows a big crowd at a concert doing the whole left right " ritual". ... not a orange glow ...but still very nice to look at....it is amazing to see the whole crowd moving like that... so..i thought ..maybe you would enjoy watching it..

One of the Turkisch players was suspended for showing the "wulf sign", which is the sign of a Turkisch fascist organisation. So the caricature isn't that innocent.

Turkish fans were constant whistling when we had the ball while orange kept singing and cheering when it was 0 - 1 for Turkey. That's real support!

Dat begon vanaf minuut 12 ongeveer... eerste 12 min waren ze erg stil... erna kwam de passie Na de 0-1 werd het meer... in de tweede helft toen je kon voelen dat de Turken op ballen stonden werd het nog meer Het mooiste moment van de wedstrijd was dan ook voor mij de 2-1... mondjes gesnoerd :) zo hoort het in sport te gaan Jammer van het geweld na de wedstrijd in den haag en andere steden Voor de rest prima avond

I have noticed that turkish, but also moroccan people always whistle and boo when the opponent has the ball. It feels very unsportsmanlike and rude. Quite meanspirited.

That isn't a police car. It's just us beeing silly 😅 Can you imagine what celebrating in the Netherlands would look like when we would win the finals? It will get even crazier. When we won in 1988 schools even got a day off so childeren could go to the tribute of the players when they flew back to the Netherlands. I was 7 years old back then and I still remember it very vividly! 🧡🙌🏼

Yea offcourse it was a reaction to how Turkish celebrate, a piece of there own cookie.

I love how the Dutch Fan Base celebrates❤

In my town the Dutch and Turkish fans celebrated together. A lot honking and fireworks. One big party🎉

Summer of 1988, 8 year old me didn't care about football at all. The biggest thing on my mind; that day would be the end of schoolyear celebration by means of a variety show put on by the kids of the school. Each class was to perform a little thing and I was the narrator of a Dutch summer themed poem about a lady who sunbathed too much. (I can still recite it) The little village in Limburg I lived in had no theater, so we were allowed to perform it in the church, which had a podium and room for the parents to sit. I was out riding bikes with my girlfriends and the village was eerily quiet. No one was on the streets aside from us, 4 little girls on bikes wondering why things seemed so off. Suddenly, from every house on the street came a loud "YEEAAAHH!" Grown men ran out of their houses, did a little dance on the front lawn and ran back inside. It all startled us so much we almost fell off our bikes. That's when we learned the EK finals were happening and we were winning. That evening all the parents dressed the kids in orange. The church, which we hadn't been allowed to decorate because church had to be respected, was covered in orange paper bows. Orange balloons were tied behind cars. Jeugdjournaal (a news show for kids) was talking about something called "orange fever" and "orange insanity". The country really hasn't been the same since.

8 year old me was camping in Nijverdal back then. I still remember the yelling from the whole camp site and the sheer joy we felt for days! It was magical! It would be full circle to win in Germany again🍀🥰.

I love the fact that even German fans are rooting for us now.

There were periods in football history when the dutch were giants themselves, but this kind of clear output of enthousiasm I never encountered.😂❤

The honking of the cars are mostly Dutch people with Turkish roots. For Turkish people this is more common then non-Turkish Dutch people . To be honest many Dutch people are not very found on this kind of celebrations. We are more of singing and dancing together in Orange and singalong.

It was really meant to annoy the Turks, because it's usually them honking after a match, or at a wedding, and that annoys a lot of Dutch (and German) people. I have to say I was really afraid of what would have happened if Turkey had won. Dutch Turks would have gone out honking their horns, and it would have annoyed the Dutch (who would not have been in a good mood anyway, and had some alcohol) so much that it could have gotten really ugly. Cities and towns were praparing for the worst. So I'm glad it didn't come to that, but this 'revenge honking' shows how sensitive this matter really is.

Backdrop story on the Honking; dutch mayor decided to call for honking ban if turkey wins; when the dutch won they mocked the call by honking evrywhere, wich was the funniest revanche ever in my book :P never laughed so loud on a revanche stunt on a mayor of my own party. I honked at m per tweet as response hehehe couldnt resist lol. I love love love my country when it acts like that, as one. With current turmoil in dutch politics I cherish those moments knowing that it is still there. That attitude the dutch are known for; touch one of us and you'll touch all of us. It is more muted these days but when it comes out on sports events I just drink it in and love evry minute of it.

I was at a festival called WishOutdoor in the south of the netherlands. It was crazy there after the match with turkey. Hopefully the dutch supporters stay positive even if they loose and let the world see that it can be done without destruction even when losing.... but anyways we are going to win so.... good luck covering the orange march..

Each one of dutch knows the song. And the fun part; bc it has no context it is what unites. It was ment to have fun on it, That is what makes it a perfect sport event anthem.

The Dutch national team was in the World Cup Final 3 times and was European champion in 1988

Not only the Turks but also Kurds and other groups who were angry and apparently could not cope well with their loss. In the past, Dutch supporters have sometimes misbehaved, but this beats everything ( not talking about club supporters but country supporters). Even in Indonesia they are celibrating for the Netherlands. Just look it up.

The only violence in The Netherlands was between Turks and Kurds. Many Kurds live in Turkey but are treated as lesser people in Turkey. Spain might be the best but I would love to play against Spain if we reach the final. We still have revenge feelings against Spain. Not the 80 years war, but a rerun of the World Cup final in 2010. 😂

Normally it is not celebrated like this. It's more of a finger at the Turks, because they always celebrate their victory that way.

Nah bro that was no police car. It was a tuned family car with green lights on his roof. Our dutch police cars have bleu lights. And wen there is a accident they put there orange lights on. So people know they have to watch out.

Netherlands is also a BIG name in the Football world so not very surprised that they reached the Semi final. That is always a goal for the Dutch. And apart from Germany Spain has not faced any big teams this tournament. Netherlands did and should have won the France game.

You totally missed the negative undertone of all things here: - The beeping was a revenge action for the Turks always doing that. - The wolf of Turkey is about a right wing extremist group called the 'Wolves'.
