    It's pretty typical that when you donate that much money that you do get an action plan for it. Otherwise it could get spent on things like houses, cars, bonuses etc. No matter what was said publicly, his financial advisors won't want to release the funds until they know exactly where it's going. It looks suspicious on Porier's end that they couldn't even do that one simple thing.

  • @Joe_Roc

    Exactly! Conor has people that handle his charity donations and Dustin shouldn’t get special treatment because he’s a fighter. Most people don’t know how this works. You get an itemized list of where your money is going so you don’t get scammed especially when your donating to so many charities. And he probably doesn’t donate half a million to most charities. That’s a lot of money. It would’ve been perfect if Connor presented the check right after the third fight in the octagon. Dustin got inpatient, greedy, and clueless on how to run an organization. It’s not the Conner didn’t donate the money. He just hasn’t donated the money yet..... And what happened uncle Chael to Conor is a man of his word? Maybe this is just fight promotion and we’re all marks. Who knows?

I've worked directly with 2 extremely rich people who basically said "Do X and I'll pay you a certain amount at the end of the month", which is a very high figure for even a year's salary for most people. No written contract, no signatures, just phone conversations, and they pay up. I know it's because they make orders of magnitude more and want to keep you around, but it's nice to just have a verbal agreement that is honored. So Conor, you need to pay up otherwise you a punk

    He’s going to threaten to cancel, but no way he actually cancels and spits in his girlfriend’s face. Conor doesn’t want to get on Dana’s bad side right now(with 1 win in the past 5yrs, against a retiring journeyman fighter), because suddenly the UFC will stop offering him fights against top contenders or make him the short notice fill-in fighter until his contract is up. AND, he’s still committed for 3 more UFC Fights on his current contract, so he’d essentially be force retiring himself.

    If Conor is telling the truth about not being communicated with, I kind of see his point. Even for him, 500k is a lot of money and it makes sense that he would want to see a plan for where his money is going. He probably just wanted to put his name on whatever the money went to, which is a bit narcissistic but also makes sense.

    I have a fun Chael story. It seemed unreal when it happened and it still does today as I think back on it. It was Chael's first fight with Anderson. It was at the Oakland Coliseum. A friend of mine named Ryan wrestled with Chael in high school back in Oregon. After high school, Ryan went on to wrestle in college. Given that Ryan was an accomplished wrestler himself and a few years older, my buddy was a mentor to Chael. So this is the biggest fight of Chael's life and Ryan wants to be there to support him. He ends up buying tickets for a group of us including some other wrestlers from their high school team. You've all seen the fight. I can tell you that the energy in the building was extra intense. After the fight, Ryan texts someone on Chael's team and they invite him down to the locker room. Ryan brings my wife and I down with him. We head into the back and We passed John Fitch on the way to Chael's locker room and I remember thinking how lumpy he looked after his fight. We get to Chael's room. It's him and two other coaches. So now, it's maybe 30 minutes after he lost. He had that fight won for 95% of the fight time and lost it in the end. Devastating. We walk in and I think to myself, 'we shouldn't be here.' I originally thought we'd be stepping into a room with more people; coaches, reporters, some friends, etc. But no, it's just six of us now. What does Chael do? He focuses on the two misfits in the room: me and my wife. "Hello, guys, sorry I wasn't able to win that one for you. What are your names?" We went on to have a 20-minute discussion where his sole focus was making us feel welcome, comfortable, and included in this extraordinarily intimate moment. At this man's hardest single point of his life, he had the same charisma that he does when he's doing an interview in the comfort of his home. I was concerned that our presence wasn't allowing him to be authentic. But no, he just involved us, two strangers, in that authentic moment. It was remarkable. I was a supporter of his before but since then, I've seen the man a little differently. I'll be a lifelong supporter of him. Keep doing your thing, Chael.

    @CymroGoch Let me ask you this, why did Conor need to wait for the fight to happen before donating? Why didn't he donate in the lead up? Why is it only after the fight when there aren't as many eyes on them that he suddenly thinks to ask these questions? Because he never intended to donate and was looking for a way out of it. If he wanted to he could have sponsored the gym and opened an account for his charity and covered expenses like gym equipment, rings, building materials, food programs, transportation programs etc and tracked where the money was going. Conor could have done the donation at any time. Had months during the fight build up to have his team look into the charity. Had months during the build up to have his team ask Dustin about plans. Now only when the fight is over is when he suddenly starts looking for a way out.

  • @Mattisin

    @Mattisin

    @CymroGoch Where? Dustin said that it's been 2 months of radio silence so far. Throughout the build up Conor kept saying how he was *going* to donate and loved the charity etc etc. Why say any of this or even offer if you haven't looked into it? Why do you need to brag about how you're going to do something rather than just doing it? Edit: From Dustin: "We thanked him because his team reached out fight week to initiate the process but ghosted us the past 2 months after the fight." Why'd they wait that long before asking? Why be so confident in the donation throughout the entire build up without asking? Why not just ask from day 1 and donate on day 2? Because his goal was to get all of the **free** publicity he could out of it. The people who brag about things they haven't done yet are con artists.

    @CymroGoch Dustin said that his charity replied with the process of where the funds were going to be put to work. Conor replied with insults. When people reply with insults and anger they do so because they don't have any other reply and know that they've been caught. If Conor is telling the truth then it's easy for him to prove it. These are emails. He didn't even bother to try to do that and immediately resorted to insults.
