Bro what the hell. THIS should teach everyone a huge lesson about life. There's billy, in this basement with a bunch of random local "no-names", and all of these cats are WORLD FUCKING CLASS musicians. Its literally insane. The banjo. The guy playing the slide on his lap, I have no idea how he was spitting such fast licks with a technique like that. The mandolin player. I mean, all of them. Just world class chops that take years and years, as well as a certain amount of innate ability, to cultivate. Impressed is an understatement. Such unassuming brilliance.

Tell me you’ve seen Billy Strings in concert? Greatest EVENT of my life. I’m 35 years old and listen to music all day / every day and Billy showed me the impossible. It was the greatest concert I’ve ever seen 3 songs in. By the time he got to set 2 me and my friends couldn’t stop saying “wtf is happening” “how is he doing this?? This isn’t possible…” GO SEE HIM IF YOU LOVE MUSIC HE WILL TRANSCEND THE HEAVENS UPON YOU 😅

My husband and I are more than 35 years old, we’ve seen lots of concerts. Went to see BMFS on a whim. 🤯 A few songs in we were just in awe, his performance and the crowd, it was such a vibe! It was my #1 live show, for my hubby it was #2 to Prince.

I'm 55 and no idea how concerts I've seen, an eff ton; Page and Plant at the Hollywood Bowl and the LA Forum, tons of Dead (and Garcia on Broadway), Blues Traveler in a small bar in Vermont before they broke, Loreena McKennitt, Joe Bonamassa, etc., etc., etc. But I've never seen Billy, and your write-up convinced me. Gotta make this happen.

🤣😂🤣😂 You are funny. Been like that for at least 75 years. Bluegrass became a thing in the 1940s I am sure the music goes a lot farther back than that. Our Irish and Scottish brothers made this great sound. bluegrass was born in the Appalachian Mountains. Every instrument has its roll. This is what real music is. not today's digital stuff. I mean, it's okay if you're into that kind of thing. Hahaha

God this kicks ass, billy has been killing it for years! Love this early stuff and thank you for sharing it with us all! Truly a gem man.
Billy does with acoustic guitar sounds once thought only fabled. Billy is created out of the need for this calmer more loving tones on this planet we should all listen in.
Outstanding! W.A. doing some heavy carrying and then doing some ‘splaining of lyrics. Rilko’s 💥. 💜this.
What a tight group of talented musicians. This was just so fantastic to watch and to listen to. It's a great song, and you gentlemen make it the best it can be. ✌️❤️🎶
Chillbumps. History in the making.

Thanks for this upload. This is what music is all about
love your down to earth videos! also love to see a sublime poster in the backround! love and peace!
That basement is cold, like every basement, the shiver adds a certain vibrato.. this is awesome
This is better than the rendition done at the grand ole opry, that wasgreat too, but this is even better. Goes to show there are young people from my generation staying true to the musicianship and the roots of bluegrass and by extension country music, mainstream appeal be damned, even in 2023. Brings a smile to my face to see!
Just a bunch of dudes having the greatest jam session in the history of music - no big
