Durness - Remote Beaches on The North Coast 500
Durness is the most north-westerly village on the Scottish mainland and is known for its stunning scenery, with rocky coastlines, pristine beaches with turquoise waters, and vast open spaces.
The village is located around 120 miles north of Inverness and is part of the Sutherland region. The area is remote and sparsely populated, with a population of only a few hundred people. However, it is a popular tourist destination, particularly for those who are traveling the NC 500, enjoy walking, hiking, and wildlife watching.

Balnakeil Beach is a beautiful beach with white sand and clear waters. It is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and surfing.
Cape Wrath is the most north-westerly point of the Scottish mainland. It is a wild and remote area with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The North West Highlands Geopark is a UNESCO-designated geopark that covers a large area of Sutherland, including Durness. The geopark is home to a variety of geological features, including mountains, cliffs, and beaches. Jennifer was all in on the zip line. Unfortunately, they were closing down for the day as the winds were coming up. Jenn does the musical selection for our videos. Sometimes she gets it totally right.
