Finally, you have tried it. You either love durian or hate it. You got the kampung durian mixed up with the D101. Kampung is the pale one; and because there are so many sub-varieties, the taste and texture can vary. And in terms of eating, you must always eat you way up the hierarchy : cheapest to the expensive, i order to get the most out of the taste. For example, never eat Musang King first; it has to be the last. Durian eaten, check.

They are eating in correctly order i think, and it does not matter what hierarchy you choose to start or end first, if you are Durian Craver all the version you can swallow up in your stomach 😂

Thank you for being so adventurous! Not all Malaysians love durian either 😅 but usually people who love stinky beans love durian as well (and vice versa), maybe Anna will change her mind one day 😆

So delicious. I can take one lobe each. For me the best is Musang king, then ,101 and the last one is durian kampong. Musang king, is sweet and subtly bitter taste, Then 101, cheerful yellow colour, mild sweet creamier. Durian kampong is the native original durian fruit that grows without any human intervention such as grafting. It is usually milky white in colour, reasonably fruit sweet and cheapest. I like all frankly. Usually can't devour too much , few lobes is usually advisable. Happy to see both of you Not Dislike durian unlike many other westerners 🤣

I understand Anna don't like too soft texture foods. Don't smell the foods bcoz we most of us just eat it since kids and don't really smell it. Lets the taste buds do the thing, later the mind processes it😅

Agreed with you on the reaction that people make like crying and throwing out is just ridiculous. Treat durian as any food with respect - there are people all over the world who like and loved them. So seeing people over reacting to durian is kind of annoying to durian lover.

Nice😋 the durian kampong is my favorite. The flesh is not thick with large seed. Maybe the durians are more than 1 day after falling from their trees. Durian don't last long.

Hi Dan n Anna. Nice of you to try the king of fruits. One tip i would like to share. After you eat durian with bare hands, the odour will last quite for sometimes. Some will use hand soap to get rid of the odour. Actually there is a simple way to wash away the odour Just take the durian shell, put it under running water and you wash your hand with the water.

durian lovers eat until only seeds left. for me as a durian eater, musing king is the best in the world. but not for beginner. because the taste is very strong and sharp.

This durian if cook in d pot+coconut milk+pandan leaf+little bit sugar n 1 tea spoon salt....cook abt 5 minutes...woow u wil feel so yummmy! 😋💃Like a jem...eat wit plan bread(roti gardenia) buy at 7 eleven...pls try👍😍

Dan like durian kampung, you officially average local people. You should try durian kampung kahwen it is more bitter, sweet and fatty taste. And also durian ioi and durian d24. Durian good eating when heavy rainy season, it is warm your body. The most expensive one is not musang King, the most luxury one is durian black thorn.

It was nice to really try different kinds of durian.

i luv durian kampung..although it didnt hv much flesh..im not a fan of any creamy durian..but i still hv to buy it bcoz my daughter n my wife they luv musang king,if u talkin about smell..jackfruit smell a lot stronger than durian..if u dont believe me try put durian n jackfruit in refrigerator,everthing inside it will smell n taste like jackfruit..durian dont do dat..gosh i hate jackfruit..

Thank you Anna and Dan for taking this challenge and you gave Malaysian durian a dignified taste test! ❤️ I thought you were going to try the sampler ones which would not be too much for two. Personally, I like durian kampung because it’s always a surprise the taste you get with every durian kampung. But I can certainly sympathise with Anna for associating the texture of the durian pulp with something of a mush, like an over-ripened persimmon, nectarines. If you didn’t grow up with durian, it could be a challenge so thank you trying. People who hated it tend to give a nibble and that was it, not even a few more bites to give a fair judging. The proper way to eat it is not to pick on it, or mash with fingers but to just put the whole piece in your mouth and eat the flesh leaving only the seed.

Dan liked kampong version, Anna liked the musang king but not at all due to softness of texture of durian. Then Anna you shall try ice cream durian haha 😂 . Dan liked kampong then shall try tempoyak then it fermented sauce that can eat with Nasi Putih. Delicious

Durian is like custard, which is rare for a fruit. That's why it is so special. And it is usually eaten directly from its core. You don't pick out the flesh, which breaks the original texture. By the way "kampung" translates to village or countryside. Love watching you both! Keep the adventure spirit going!❤

and anna the taste of durian is so good there is no need to argue about the smell between the two options of liking it or not but durian fruit is the most expensive fruit I see you lose if you don't eat it until it's gone..😅

Durian truly an acquired taste. Either you love it or you dont.. I even heard an expat tried durian for 5 years and then only get to understand why certain people love durian so much.

should eat durian by grade or type, bos. should try from 'DURIAN KAMPUNG' for the first n the last is 'MUSANG KING'. thats the way having durian. if you start form the highest grade example start from musang king, you cant feel the taste lower grade from musang king. bcoz musang king manipulate the taste.

I don't eat durian, so my father when he made a trip to our durian orchard during the durian season, he always bring home mangosteen. Go find mangosteen, the season coincide durian. If durian is the king, mangosteen is the queen.
