I am American and I have been to Durban six or seven times. I have seen or done just about everything you did in this video, save the overhead tram ride, and I still loved this video. I am looking to take holiday in January and Durban/Cape Town was number one on my list but Omicron has put the breaks on that. Lastly, once when in Durban I told a young lady that I loved her accent, (BTW I love both of your accents) she said, "I don't have an accent, you do."

Awesome that you've visited Durban, normally tourists only go to Cape Town or Joburg :) Omicron has really messed up so many people's travel plans :( Hopefully we can get back to normal soon! I was born in Durban but spent years 2-8 in England. When we moved back to Durbs we lived many years in the city Centre. Smith Street mostly. The city was beautiful then. It was clean and safe. Window shopping was a regular Sunday family activity to do after a Sunday roast. Garlicks was my favourite shop. But sadly, although the beachfront looks lovely, Smith and West Street look awful. I recently spent a couple of days with family who live in the Davenport area. My late Gran used to live in Davenport Square and it was beautiful back then. But the amount of household waste on the streets is dire. Even the condition of the roads and pavements is shocking. I live in Hibberdene now and we have a great community of locals who strive to keep it a "Tidy Town". Durban's city Centre needs that too.
