I won tickets to a show at the Hollywood Bowl, and these guys were the opening act. I didn't care a fig about the main attraction, but I fell in adoration with Durand Jones and the Indications. So good!

I feel you@RockandRollWoman. I just found them last night by complete accident just flipping around on you tube. The scared souls are a treasure also. Can I Call You Rose is a diamond. I LOVE this kind of music.

the way their music resonates is fantastic. i loved to see durand feeling and exposing the message of morning in america with his eyes, like in the 6:47 moment. it's personal, is deep. is important and amazing to see.
I enjoy your music, so much, thank you all❤❤❤
My wife bought me a 6-month subscription from some vinyl supplier where they send a new album each month (randomly, they ask what you like and then pick you something). They sent over the Duran Jones and The Indications first album one month AND Charles Bradley's "Changes" the next. I am so grateful for her and that record service...Those records changed my brain! I suggest watching Charles Bradley perform on the Luke Cage show on Netflix if you haven't already checked it out. I am so sad that I never got to see Charles Bradley perform live but I did not miss DJ&TI prior to covid. It's July 13, 2021 when I write this and cannot wait for their new album dropping at the end of July 2021.
People still play and enjoy Bach, Beethoven and Mozart... this is classic stuff folks. I lived through the 70s and love this!
3:37 is just pure magic. what incredible skill on display at KEXP once again.
33 dislikes? How can anyone not like this goodness!
this group has changed my music taste forever
Why is there any dislikes to to this greatness!!
Damm the drums are clean I like em
Yessssss I am such a record store clerk :). ( even own the store haha ) and yes.... we play Durand.... a lot.......
It started out as a KZread search for Chris Cornell and somehow ended up here. Good vibes and music.
Aaron can totally whip it out on the drums and has the voice of an angel and he's second fiddle to Durand? Shows how good Durand is. Why no recognition??

Actually a very good question but sometimes comes down to who puts the pieces of the puzzle together ;-). Also some people are not comfortable with the lead 'spotlight' and prefer to just play or sing (or both in Aaron's case). Not a bad thing.. Need to also remember that ego's are often the demise of bands. Very much look forward to seeing them live this coming September (I've got my tickets!).

17 seconds in and I already LOVE it! Enough of the bang-bang, screech-screech, clang, crash noise, this is "Ahhhhhhh......"
Strong brass section. Looking forward to seeing these guys with Jack Johnson this Summer!
"WALK AWAY'? NO WAY!!!! MASTERPIECE, Beautiful LEAD vocalist Durand, backup vocals so so good. You've been around 7 years, where've I been? This is a revelation! So glad YOU TUBE downloaded. Thank you DJ & Indications, KEXP, With gratitude, LOVE THEM SONG TITLES!!! 02.06/2022!
His voice is amazing!!!
Totally legit update of an impressive range of classic 70s soul...from the Philly Soul w/Al Green flashes of the opening tune through to their 2nd track and, the fine Curtis Mayfield/Chicago Rodriguez/Detroit blend and, the other wonderful musical touchstones "visited" during this incredible 4-Song soulful musical journey...these folks TOTALLY get it! Bonus awesomeness for the awesomely soulful background vox from the skinny white kid on the kit!! Lead vocalist is AMAZING...a complete CHAMPION...but, that dude's background vox are PERFECT!
Too many tears.. such a badass song
As Mr Keating once said in Dead Poets Society: "let it fill your soul Charlie"...Cracking set!!!
Long Way Home got that Staples Singers swing... Dudes are a musical blessing in these social dark times

It removes most of the resonance, so it sounds super dead! :)
I wonder what happened to that bass player.
I like it, but why can't people do new, "of their own generation" music anymore? I mean, these days everything is either retro or it's loaded with samples. This stuff sounds like it came out in 1973. Add some crackles and a warped vinyl effect, and it would be indistinguishable.
@la7120

Music is an echo of culture and society. Interesting you chose 1973. Let's see: Oil crisis. Energy crisis. China nutting up. White House scandal. What has changed? Sometimes ignorance is a choice...
@RandomPlayIist

"of their own generation" music anymore" The music of this generation sounds exactly the same ffs. They're not improving upon or being creative, it's just trash. The real music that's being played is stuff that learns from great music of the past and builds on it, like this right here. So I'll take this over the ten thousandth trap sample heavy drum looped auto tuned nonsense of today's music.
@lifeandliberty0172

Cuz all new music fucking sucks. These guys chose wisely to play a style that's real.
Please do music and forget the stupid social political commentary.
