Мне 44, уже не помню, когда впервые услышал ДД, вероятно, в 86-87 году, и, скорее всего, это были Wild Boys. Разумеется, я, семилетний советский пацан, был потрясён. Что-то есть особенное в музыке Дюранов, так же, как и в музыке Депешей, которых безмерно люблю. Они особенные. Они первые, пожалуй, смогли соединить барочную эстетику нью-вейва с доходчивостью поп-рока и "голубоглазого" соула, прилипчивыми мелодиями, моментально проникающими в сознание и инновационными видео с дорогущим продакшеном. Долгое время рингтоном на моём телефоне была их Serious. Вокал Саймона - что-то космическое. Невероятные, неповторимые.

Cause no matter, how old you are, this song again and again turns you into teen, preparing for your first date, or any other important step. According to Simon he wrote this song for one of his daughter's as she had become so scared as to what was happening in the world as all she saw were War's/Death/Terrorists & famine in the News & she got so distressed that she asked her father something along the line of " is the world always going to be like this & eventually come to an end! " As a concerned adult & father he sat her down & talked to her & did his best to comfort her but he said it disturb him so much to see his daughter like this & hence why he penned " What Happens Tomorrow " for his daughter to let her know that she is not alone in her thinking/to keeping taking it a day at a time & no one really knows whats going to happen tomorrow & that you have to just believe that it will all work out & stay positive... His daughter's generation weren't the first to see such atrocities & many lived through such times & no doubt he spoke to her about what we all went through (that are the same age as the band member's) with the masdive unemployment all over the world in the 70s onwards/the threat of yet another Cold War in the 80's/along with all the things Thatcher's Government destroyed/AIDS et al & we weren't the first to feel this way also & we sure as hell wont be the last... It just takes someone to talk to us to remind ourselves that although there is great poverty/hardship & suffering everywhere in the world all we can do in the words of Pink Floyd's song is " Keep Talking " & we will find a way to get through such things on a daily basis & to try & do our best to help other's less fortunate than ourselves... In light of this still ongoing coronavirus stay safe & healthy wherever you are in this world... .....

Because they didn't get Astronaut and although this song charted rather high, it was NOT on the radio much or at all.

When I was a high school student, I was a big fan of Duran Duran. I looked up Simon's career and found out that he was a member of the Church's Praise in his childhood. I became a Christian five years later, so I'm no longer a fan of Duran Duran, but when I listen to songs like Simon's "What Happens Tomorrow" and "Last Day On Earth," I cannot help praying for Simon to become a Christian. Because no one living on this earth has hope. This earth will perish. It is because of human sins. 6000 years after the world was created, sin is ripe and the world is corrupt and only waits for God's judgment. It is similar to Noah's Day and Sodom and Gomorrah's Day. But Christians have hope. The bridegroom Christ will return in the air before the judgment of the world to welcome the bride. This is also called the rapture. God was not created to destroy humans, but since the first days and Adam sinned and fell, the holy and justice God cannot help but judge. But there was salvation! Since the Lord Jesus had already paid the debt of judgment on the cross 2000 years ago, anyone who believes in him and accepts him will be saved! Hallelujah! !! Until now, great artists have accepted Christ Jesus just before their death and have become victors of faith. Bob Dylan and John Lennon are like that. This world is the worst of all, and everyone lives in an era where it's no wonder what happens tomorrow. In order to survive in such an era with hope, we absolutely need the faith to thank and receive the Lord Jesus Christ, the God, who has already been judged on our behalf on the cross. Soon, the Lord Jesus will come back again. At that time, it is the responsibility of everyone to choose, whether as a willing bride or for judgment. I wish I could email Simon directly, but I don't know how to do that and I wanted to tell a lot of people, so I commented here. Duran Duran spent my adolescence with me and gave me lots of opportunities to think. He preaches the gospel with love and prayer because I have to repay my debt to them.

My goodness I resonate with this song so much! For someone who has severe levels of anxiety, I often worry about the future and worry about the unknown. But songs like this adds a level of comfort to my mind. Amazing track Duran Duran!

sameee this reminds me of my family and I on the freeway at night, slightly chilly and sleepy 7y/o me. Idk if saudade could even explain this whole sensory memory thing. It's just amazing what a song can do.

+RIPSILVER Network Lo mismo digo yo, el videoclip ya tiene un poco más de dos años que se publicó y tan solo tiene 700 mil y cacho de vistas, y en cambio los vídeos de trap como Maluma, Despacito, etc. en menos de un año que se publicaron ya habían rebasado entre 500 y 1000 millones, lo que es vender por vender y no hacer música de ❤ y pasión como Duran Duran y grupos derivados

I remember that when I heard this song I fell in love with a teenager, I fell in love in a bad way, I was very sad because love played against me, but I always remember this wonderful song along with U2's original of the species. Every time I listen to those 2 songs I feel bad, very gloomy.

Underrated. And I'm not even sure Duran Duran being inducted in the US "Rock Hall of Fame" is going to do them any favors. If nothing else, when they tour, fans turn out. And they DO turn it out. Duranies like me will ALWAYS be at the shows.

Thank you, someone, for God's sake, for writing a song about optimism. Everybody else seems to want to add to the misery.

A tender tought to my Dad, passed away in 2009 ; I was 15, in 1983, when I said to my parents "I just found out a new band with a great song " Union of the snake" ; and 38 years after, I still listen to them...
