So we went down on our spring trip to escape the Michigan snow and had a blast with 3 days of mountain biking some of the best Brevard and Asheville had to offer!
Day 1 we arrived in the rain and had to decide, do we ride? Called the local bike shop, got their blessing mentioning the trails we were going to ride will not be damaged by wet conditions riding. Day 1 was Cedar Rock and Big Rock though, which means slabs of slipper rock, yikes! We were careful and had a blast navigating the slick rock and learning to trust our tires grip. We highly recommend Dupont and the trails mentioned above. Ridgeline is also a MUST when in Dupont but we stayed around in the wet conditions, especially since it just had a machine rework.
Dupont State Forest is a premier mountain bike destination and has something for everyone! We like riding here first before jumping into Pisgah National Forest. Pisgah is known for steeper climbs, steeper descents, and CHUNK. We love that as well, but we saved that for day 2! See video on our channel. We took our bikes on a hike trip up Black Mountain upper. LOL
