Thats so crazy that your ELF shed! I had the opposite problem - My Becca was shedding like a beast and no issues with ELF!

Me, too!
I had the opposite issue with the shedding. Elf=no shedding. Thanks for the video, girl!
This was super helpful! I've always been super skeptical of these types of brushes. I'm gonna look into getting my hand on the becca brush ! Thank you !!!
Wow one of the best comparison videos every watched. Again so helpful and the info, the manner in which you deliver it is so great. Thank you much!
Thank you for your straight forward honesty. Love your videos.
I'm so glad you did this review. I was going to order the ELF brush, but really wanted to see a review first. Thank you!
This was a great video, thank you! And I didn't know you could use these for foundation 💡
Thanks for adding in the recommendations at the end. Super helpful.
GREAT video...answered so many of my questions. Thanks!!
Great and informative video!! Thank you for your thoroughness!! Greetings from Connecticut!
Omg!!! Your eyes make up today is stunning!!
Great review!!! The Becca brush is on my list to get!!!
Hi Bailey I'm a new subscriber to your channel after seeing you on Dani's Saturday Panda Spotlight :) I just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying your videos, some like this one are so in depth with a lot of attention to details while other are short and snappy and I absolutely love this combination! Keep up the great work girl! x
Dude! You're booooomb at precise reviews, and using adult English words! mad props!
Thank you for making this video comparison, Bailey. I had been going back and forth wondering if either of these were a must have addition to my brush collection. I'm definitely going to pass on the elf, but may still go for the Becca. It looks like a great travel companion, lol. 😁
I love how indepth and well rounded this video is! I'm also really glad I didn't order the ELF brush like I kept wanting to do. After the first images I saw released on Instagram I was hoping this ELF brush would be a dupe for the NARS Ita brush but obviously it is much larger. I definitely don't need a 10 in 1 brush, I like having choices and variety each morning.
I love my elf brush SOO much. I actually just got it, and it's my new favorite for blush/bronzer/highlight.
Very helpful!! I want that elf brush now
Great review and demo!
Thanks for comparing these two! Great video as always. :)
Thanks for the video! I've had my BECCA brush for sometime now. I love it for foundation and powder the most. It works great with the UD Naked foundation! I need more practice for the rest. It takes a little getting used to.
I have been going back and forth about the Becca brush and then I saw the e.l.f and thought 'hmmm, maybe I'll grab that one'. After this review, I'm so buying the Becca. Your demo sold me girl! ;) Thanks again for another amazing review video. XOXO Sarah
LOVE this eye look on you!!! Absolutely stunning.

Thanks, Melissa! A tutorial for it (and the look I was wearing during the demo running through the video) is coming in a tutorial using the Smashbox Double Exposure Palette :)
I have the Sonia Kashuk folding travel compact brush which is a terrific find. It looks like a square black compact but folds open to reveal a brush and one half of the handle has a mirror. The brush is shaped like those you are demonstrating. I love it for my contouring or bringing.
Your makeup looks beautiful here!
Thank you for the thorough review!
I am not sure why ELF made their brush so thick. Good comparison. ♥ Elle
Your makeup is stunning.
A+ review! Thank you, you answered any question that popped up in my head! Great job! Loved the visual demo!:-)
Great review ! Very honest review...appreciated
Thanks for this!! Now I feel like I didn't miss out by not ordering this brush last week when ELF was having its sale. 😄
Great dupe video! Also-your eyes look AMAZE in this video! Ooh la la!

Thanks, Ivy!! :)
hi , bailey ! thank you so much for doing a comparison . the shedding & width of the elf brush puts me off . i think i'll just save up for the becca .
Thank you for this review . I had high hopes for the ELF brush but I will pass on it this time.
Wow what a great video thanks for this, I had this ELF brush in my cart. ELF has to many negatives to me
Such a thorough review. Tfs♡
Very informative and so I have subscribed. If you have time could you compare Becca's to EcoTool's dupe for this brush?
wonderful vid! If Becca comes out with a synthetic brush, I'll be there!!-Lol It appears to work like a charm but the shedding isn't good for me :-( - love the vid!
I use the EcoTools version of this brush which i purchased a couple of years ago. It does the job though i don't use it for anything other than bronzer and contouring. Thank you for the great comparison, i didn't even know about these two brushes, i just knew of thinner Nars version, which is super expensive and i couldn't justify the purchase.
great review
I love your channel :) I've said this b4 but I seriously have no idea why you don't have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. But I guess it's better to have loyal subscribers than to have large numbers but just know many of us think you deserve more subbies ;)

The more the merrier! But until then, I like being able to get to know, and respond to, as many people as possible - much easier with a more intimate audience! ;) Thanks so much for watching and commenting. It's means a lot!
Great review. Very detailed. I bought the Elf one, haven't tried it yet. Seem like the biggest complaint from the people who tried it is the size. Looks like it has some flaws, but decent from the video, can't wait to try.
All of those oddly shaped brushes, elf or otherwise, look awkward to me...you can do everything with other brushes, and if you use it for 10 things you will have blush where your bronzer should be, glitter where you didn't want it...honestly, they just look like a marketing ploy to me...just my opinion anyway. Great video!!

Thanks for watching! I nearly always use the same brush for bronzer, blush, and highlighter (I love the way it helps each blend into each other), so it fit pretty naturally into my daily routine. But for someone that prefers to use different brushes for each, I can definitely see where this kind of brush format would be unappealing!
@JennaIce

Yeah using the same brush to me for foundation blush and bronzer powders and highlight? I mean unless you plan on cleaning that 1 brush after every single time you use it. I prefer to have a few different brushes. For those who can get away wit hit I envy you , very lucky.
Can you do a review on elf's 3 new brushes? Flawless blending, sculpting and the dual ended eyebrow one? They're so new that no one has reviewed them yet and I love your reviews (:
Eco Tools has a brush VERY similar to this one (for only $11)...I love it!!
Just saw the Becca brush on QVC for $39 with a sample of the shimmering skin perfector. Was very tempted to pick it up, but decided on the Tarte bundle instead. So if anyone is interested there's a deal there! Thanks for the comparison Bailey! Still going to keep my eye on it.
Thank you for doing this. I however will never spend 40$ on a brush. Ever. So the ELF brush is a great alternative for me.
Great info. !
I just don't see the 10 in 1 selling point to be very inviting to me. I already have plenty of brushes that work very well. I can find many other things to spend that kind of money on. Besides those brushes are SO BIG! Why try to make a brush that is that big perform like a much smaller brush? Not for me.
@Diamond6506
9 жыл бұрын
The reason why it's so big it's because it provides a larger coverage point for those days were you dot have lots I time but still need that coverage also don't be to judge mental about its size once you try it I found that it gave a flawless application

It's great that you've found the brushes that work for you, Ellie! I figured some people would say the same, which is why I included a list of my favorite affordable individual brushes at the end of the video. But for those that are looking for the 10-in-1 brush, I think BECCA takes the cake between the two.

I think travel and gym bag makeup are 2 uses that came to mind. Is like, for me, I think is BS that the beauty blender costs 20 bucks, but it can serve many purposes and occupy a tiny amount of space and more importantly for air travel or the bus or a bike: less weight!! Now, I personally don't like carrying many products out of the house, except for lipbalm, maybe some lipstick, a hairbrush, and if I feel reeeal fancy, a mini mascara... But sometimes, for a weekend trip, air travel, whatever, it sounds really interesting. Other than that, is one of those things where it might just not appeal to you, and also, I feel like just for the sake of trying interesting designs, it could be cool.

I am away from home sometimes 10 or more hours a day. I do take several products with me to work even though some days I don't find the time to do a lot of touching up. I try to keep it simple and use the best travel brushes I can find to put in my makeup bag. I am not a very big person and this brush is almost the size of my face! Just does not appeal to me to be scrunching up a huge brush and trying to make it work for me. I do like to try new things but this is not one of them. I am sure many will give it a try just because of the hype but, personally, I just am not tempted.

Ellie L I thought it would be about the size of the Hourglass ones, or a bit bigger, not full face big, but what you said makes sense too, especially if you're comfortable with whatever you're hauling back and forth.
I have a bunch of the Becca brushes! I keep two in my pro kit and one on my vanity always. They are really amazing for working on another person. I can apply foundation to the face and down the neck super fast plus I don't have to stop to grab a different brush for everything. It shaves a few minutes off each application and that allot when I have a director yelling at me to hurry up!
Looks like a paint brush from home Depot lol! Love your videos too!
I know there an Eco tool brush like this one - is possible you can do a comparison?
What conditioner did you use for the becca brush after you washed it?
I just love the elf brushes, especially the complexion brush, I swear I could use one for almost everything! Too bad the Elf ultimate kabuki didn't live up!
Thank you.
Great review, I have all those elf brushes and I love them. I just cannot justify almost $50.00 for a brush though. I have the new elf brush and I make it work :)
I was actually debating which one to get last night xD thanks! Read my mind lol
thanks for sharing your comparison =)
Does anyone know what foundation she used?
How would you compare these to the NARS ita brush?
Since the elf one is so much cheaper, would you recommend getting it to try out whether I even like the basic concept of this kind of brush, or is the difference in function likely to make me pooh-pooh it too soon? I am petite.
There is an eco tools brush that is similar as well. Its not as cheap as elf but may be better quality.
Ecotools has one as well, have you tried it? If so, what do you think about it? If not, would you consider trying it?
The Becca one is actually a dupe of something else. The Becca one is as scratchy as hell, definitely not worth the money, I'd rather buy the Eco one with much lower price and softer hairs. The brushed that Becca is copying are Rae Morris radiant brush and Hakuhodu one. Check them out! They are so so so soft!
I love your eye look in the demo! Is there a tutorial for that?
@BaileyB

There will be soon :)
I found it funny that one of Becca's ten claims for the brush is a sponge...really Becca? Really? Lol I'm sure that they meant that it could replace a sponge but...I don't know, it gave me a good laugh!
Great comparison, I think I'll skip the ELF for now. I really like the Real Techniques travel size blush brush (the pink one) for bronzer/contour. Its small and dense enough to cut a nice contour and buffs out nicely.
I've been in the market for a brush for my contour. I may end up with the Becca due to its narrower width. Oh well, guess I won't be getting the less expensive dupe.
Just curious, are you wearing an activity band on your left wrist? If so which one?
@BaileyB
9 жыл бұрын
I am! It's the Microsoft Band - I LOVE it.
the elf brush is like the eco tool brush
Looks like the E.L.F brush shed a lot too.
natural fiber brushes absorbs more product than synthetic, its a characteristic of the product.
What about shedding with the Becca?
@jennym007
7 жыл бұрын
The Becca brush does shed the dirt few times you use it. I've washed mine three times now and it doesn't shed anymore. I love this brush, leaves a great finish on my skin. I use it on holidays or when I'm in a hurry. Cheers
Thanks for the review!! This was soo helpful. Looks like I won't be purchasing it.
Bailey, although I appreciate your opinion NOTHING could convince me to spend $49 on a brush. 😊
Hi Bailey, thanks for the review, too bad the elf brush sheds so badly. I like a lot of elf brushes but will pass on this one. I'm also big headed girl :) You know what they say, "big head, big brain!" Have you checked out the prismatic eye shadows from NYX? They look a lot like the foiled shadows that many brands are doing now and just wondered about the quality and what you thought. They have one called liquid gold and I thought, "Bailey would like that!" lol! Thanks, Kim
You DO NOT have an abnormally large head! Lol what a silly thing for you to say! You are beautiful! Great review! Subscribed!
I feel like the elf side looks better..
I bought the Becca brush and returned it twice because it was shedding hairs all over my face. So, I say it's a dud. Lol
The reason elf doesn't blend aswell it's because it's $30-40 dollars cheepeer
