I've had the Dunlop D606R 130/90/17 rear for about 1000kms now. Let's see if its all its cracked up to be.

I have to agree with everything you said about the Dunlop D606 tires. I ran both front and rear D606's for 3000 miles and they have been fabulous. There is more than 50% of the tread remaining on these tires. I used the tires for 70% off road and 30% pavement. Currently running rear Mitas E-07 and front TKC80 because riding is 50% on road and 50% off road.

@@onthebackwheel At first I thought I might need a bit more aggressive of a tire in the rear. But so far things have been really positive with the combo. I think for heavy duty mudding I'd prefer the D606's. But for the majority of my riding the combo works out well. I ride a lot of mud(not super deep all of the time like you do)and trail stuff and so far so good. Good on the pavement too. More expensive than the D606's

Really excellent on my drz400e. Love them in all off-road situations. Have had a couple of sketchy moments on road while riding to the trails though so I keep things smooth and slow on road while giving myself a huge buffer to break slowly. Not looking forward to having to emergency brake…

I have a set on my WR250R and I like them overall. They are really good off-road and the do quite well with spirited riding on twisty roads. I find them a little bit squirrely on pavement at higher speeds, but nothing dangerous. My only dislike is that they are noisy on pavement. I have not ridden in the rain with these tires as of yet. I have about 2600 miles on mine and they seem to be about half way gone. The front tire has some strange cupping going on, but that may be from hard braking when I ride it in the twisties. I won't be riding the bike like that anymore since I picked up a WR250X last week.

Can you really get knee down (or most of the way) on these tyres, i have the wr250r and still on my first set of tyres and for leaning on the road they are super dodgy. I want to conintue to be able to go offroad so im stuck between getting dualsport tyres or getting these d606s

@@anonymous_friend When I originally posted the comment I had the stock 13-43 sprokets. I have since changed to Sunstar 13-46 sprokets with a new D.I.D chain. I like this setup as it gives the bike a little more on the low end, but it still does well at 65-70 mph on the road. It will throw off the speedo about 10mph, but I corrected that with a 12 o'clock Labs speedo calibrator.

30 PSI is a lot. The most I run my 606 at is 22 PSI on road trips, 18 PSI off road and on gravel.

Hey Curtis. Milaege has been pretty crap for me to be honest. I get usually about 5K out of the tires before I change them. I will say however coming from England, every year bikes and cars have to have an MOT roadworthy test so a bald tire for me is probably not bald for drivers and riders in Queensland.

They’re great on the rear but the front D606 is an absolute death trap on the highway. It’ll kick off the notorious “death wobble” without notice and you’ll need to slow up really quickly or you’ll crash. 😅

Way-too-high tire pressures for off-road. My DRZ400s calls for 20 psi for its (terrifying) stock Bridgestone Trailwings. I run (the recommended) 20 psi on my DRZ400s on the lovely Heidenau K60 D/S tires, on pavement, and regularly smoke guys on 120-150 hp BMW R1200s on twisty SoCal canyon roads. Solid, smooth and grippy. Off-road, on my local Big Bear (SoCal mtns), rocky forest roads, I run 12-14 psi, as I would in serious desert. Nobody recommends more than 20 psi, even Suzuki. Also: Why to Aussies talk so much about how their tires look? We Yanks are much more interested in how our tires work.
