I kickstarted a Namica Okami with the 9039 (my first Miyota) and that was more expensive with the optional bracelet and since they are funded before manufacture maybe this isn't too pricey for a European based operation.

I like that a lot.

Yeah. Not into cushion cases, but otherwise looking really good.

Dunlaing is a first for me. It's equal amounts interesting and quite indifferent. The interesting bits for me are that large-wearing chusiony case and the rather smart handset. They seem to have done good on the bracelet execution too. But beyond that, it just feels rather pedestrian. And while that also means few glaring errors or problems and only the large impression of the case might put some off, I also find it difficult to see where and how most enthusiasts would really connect with it. It just doesn't really offer that much to talk about and only very few and quite commi details to enjoy. I'm not sure the case is enough of a point of difference to keep this from a venture probably played too safe.

The dial is gorgeous and I love the case shape, but they're competing with brands like Traska which have microadjust clasps now - and cost less. Still, cool watch!

You have opened me up to the possibility of considering 38mm case sizes if they have a cushion design as it looks big enough on your wrist. Not sure about the polished finish around the dial though as the rest of the watch looks brushed at first glance. I will have to think about this one.. to be sure to be sure.

In many cases 38 mm watches that are not divers have a larger dials then 45 mm divers. This means that the Watch actually looks much larger than it is, if you are used to wearing divers.

Hello and thanks for this video Peter. It is always a real pleasure to discover a microbrand I never heard of before. This one insists a lot, with an interesting story telling, on its "Irish" identity. Even though we all know that most of the components, and perhaps even the assembling, are Chinese. In any case, even if I always value those who dare to launch a new microbrand, I must admit that this one, and this watch, leaves me indifferent.

My first look at this one reminded me of the WISE AD9 on which I was able to get my hands on from a great KZreadr who does fantastic reviews. But that’s only because of the Dial … that case however, a cushion-type case is really not my cup of tea. Thanks for sharing nonetheless! Stay safe and have a nice week my friend 😊

Blimey it seems like everyone and his uncle are jumping on this entry level watch making lark and that's a really good thing to see. I think you're spot on with your gripes though. Decent lume and a good adjustable clasp should be a given especially at the almost £500 mark... I wish them well anyway... Many thanks also for yet another beautifully shot video. You are definitely up there with the best when it comes to the videography of the watches us enthusiasts tend to become beguiled by lol.. Toodle Pip lol!

i really like the case shape but I returned my only 38mm purchase in recent years as it just looked too small on my wrist (8 inch)... this case shape does look like it appears bigger than 38mm suggests

I want to like it, i just can't quite get there with the case. It's a bit too squared off for me. Sort of feels like they over egged the pudding a bit. Another minor qualm, i don't like the whole "Irish Design" at the bottom, just feels a bit extra.

Lugs are quite wide, looks like a mix of cushion case and regular tapered lugs. Not my kind of thing, doesn’t feel proportioned properly to me. The endlinks need work too. They look cheap, hopefully they update those to three piece links to match the strap.

A sports watch from Ireland, does it run backwards 😀 Nice watch, but the price is a little on the steep side.

Nice enough looking but the screw on back and no date rules it out.

I assume that "Irish Design" means 'manufactured in China?' Nice looking watch, I'm a sucker for cushion cases. Thanks, Peter.

Watch looks okay tbh couldn't be any more bland and not a fan of the name/logo looks like an ali express job. Case design is half decent. Website looks really quite amateurish.

True . And as an Irish man, this is probably from the same people that came up with the Solas, also Irish design, all the way from China. 😂

As a born and bred Irishman I'm very skeptical. I came across a supposedly Irish dress watch called a Solas (meaning light) which turned out to be a watch made by a Chinese contract factory with a Chinese owner! 😂 Irish Design was on that watch too . Could be the same guy. It's a nice watch but it's probably as Irish as chop suey. There's a suspiciously similar one on that well known Chinese website. This is only for the fool who is easily parted from his money.💵 A cheapo movement for that price ? You must be on commission. This is some Irish guy buying these things and selling them on to people who don't know any better.

Would love to buy an Irish watch. But it's too pricey, no date, text unbalanced on the dial, brandame too long. But €528 plus VAT???? Come off it.

This isn't authentic. It's just some guy buying off the shelf Chinese watches with a cheap movement and putting a name on it. It's a bit like this Vincero and Pierre Loti scams. It's Chinoirish. A $40 watch ordered on consignment from China. You can order as little as 50 watches with a custom name put on them. That's exactly what this watch is.

You explained it better than me. Watch KZreadrs should not be getting involved in this type of scam. They're exactly as you say, cheap watches made in a Chinese sweatshop. You can buy Irish plastic leprechauns too, also made in China 😂

I experienced it before with a supposed Irish watch with an aventurine dial called Solas which turned out to be a Chinese watch with an Irish name on it with Irish design written on it. You can have whatever you want put on the dial.

Yay more boring crappy watches with no complications.
