he never had grandsons. his son Leto Atreides the 2nd becomes a god, by becoming half sandworm and half human, he rules as the god emperor of mankind (thats where the wh40k title for the emperor comes from) for 3500 years and never have children. he then purposely allow himself to be assassinated. so its more like this dudes son gets so into worms he makes himself half a worm and ascends into godhood, becoming worm is clearly a bigger move than riding worm.

Strongly suggest you see it in IMAX GT, and it is THE best way to watch this movie. You will not regret doing this.

trailer knows damn well it cut the 2 best parts. 1. the first time his body lifts off the worm and he’s literally hanging on for dear life and you felt your stomach drop when you watched it in theaters. 2. when he finally finds his footing and takes the calm confident step up and the Hanz Zimmer score goes absolutely insane

Some of the people in Dune comment sections on KZread have low attention spans like TikTokers, they prefer dopamine fueled Star Wars and MCU movies rather than good stories with slower buildup like Dune and Lord of the Rings.

The sunglasses are retractable. In the scene where the Fremen and Paul attack the Sand Harvester you can see it happen for a quick moment.

Watching this movie in the Dolby Atmos theater has been the best experience of my life in theaters, it is truly incredible. This is cinema!!

Bert Gummer would've handled those worms in grand fashion

Timothy chalamet did a great job. Hans zimmer like usual music on point. Just Zendya’s role was not convincing and they rushed the war, made the emperor and his army a joke. I wish they played this movie in two parts to be honest and fixed these issues

I downloaded it in 4k / 2160p also: Amazing movie. Watched it 3 times in the cinema theater. One with my Father, Then my Cousin , Then my GF. Incredible movie experience each time. IF you have the chance, Watch it in a cinema theater. Its more then a movie, Again, Its an experience.

They're not cheap at the fishing store.

Paul is without goggles before he makes the jump, and then somehow they are on. Still great scene though. The gushes of sand hitting the rider really highlight how hard it is. It also seems that tehy used rocket engine crackle as a sound effect

They have auto-visors. Watch the attack on the Harkonnen harvester scene. When Paul and Chani crawl under the harvester to the other side and start running to the legs, you see their visors raise up.

They use the hooks to pull up the worms outer plates, exposing those vents you can see at 2:00. Worms don't like getting too much sand in the vents, so they don't dive while they're open.

Saw it in IMAX GT yesterday. 30% of the time is in 1.43:1, and 65% of the time is in 1.78:1, and 5% of the time is in (maybe) 2:1

Its because they lift those "plates" or "rings" on the sandworm. Getting sand in there is irritating so they stay on the surface and don't burrow themselves again.

1. It's fiction, nothing about it is real. Especially when Dune is a philosophy and political drama disguised as science fiction. 2. Read the lore, Sandworms get big by feeding on Sand Plankton and their bodies are nuclear reactors with a lot of energy and can produce breathable oxygen for the planet.

The way sandworms travel is stupid. Not likely to exist in nature because nature loves making the least effort possible. It may make sense for sandworms to live underground in the desert, but they should move on the surface, not shifting mountains of sand.
