I think the expectation would be that as the pitch is starting, and given that this is supposed to be a formal and professional presentation, that he would have taken his last sip, cleared his throat etc and be ready to begin. Swigging from his bottle of water when he should have been introducing himself/his products to the panel gives, I think, the impression of trivialising the affair and looks unprofessional, it is different to a break in the presentation with an "excuse me" as he takes a sip of water.

@@andysmith1996 by the looks of it the deal never actually went ahead, Peter wasn't added to the company officers list, this episode was back in 2007 and by 2008 he was doing a residency at a museum where he worked as an inventor, even making gifts for the queen of England lol. He started to outsource himself as a creative designer and worked for brands like Adidas, Dyson and Samsung before starting another company in 2016 raising 600k in funding but in 2018 he closed his Consentrate business and started working for Lego as a creative director but still appears on radio and tv and does his own ted talks. Tbh he didn't need a dragon but the exposure did very well for him. There isn't a current networth but it's estimated to be between 1 million and 3 million

I like how Peter was waiting for everyone to be out, to secure it for himself and also strengthen his negotiation position.

I do get the feeling that Peter, although he can sometimes also be a bit harsh and arrogant (but less so than the others), still goes for that genuine feeling occasionally. He likes to support talent and a good heart when he sees it.

The way Duncan took a sip of his water whilst giving the eye after he mentions concentration levels drop by 20% just by 2% dehydration 😂😂

@@seanjosephhayes To Daniel's point, for all we know, that "cut to the chase" comment could have been snipped from a sentence in which he said something like "I know I need to cut to the chase." It happens all the time in reality TV. Though in fairness, people who have appeared on the show seem to agree that the final product that makes it to the airwaves is a fair representation of what transpires on set. So I can completely see where you're coming from.

35% of his lifetime earnings for £100k has to be one of the best deals Peter ever made.

Duncan's sip of his water is savage hahahaha

Good for this dude. He negotiated, gave away a little more than he wanted but he was facing failure in the face and turned it in to a negotiation with Peter that he faired well in.

Peter Jones has one of the most level heads in business, it's easy to see why he's so sucessful.

Im a teacher and that bag with cushining is a brilliant idea. I can see multiple students in each class have one.

You must've gone to a really posh school. My school was one of the best in our area, but anyone with that would've still got bullied for it, wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes.

Gotta respect a man that says "Just cut to the chase" in the middle of the most important meeting in your life with some of the most influential people you'll ever negotiate a deal with. He was right to call him out, and did it with flare. Brilliant inventor, perhaps less brilliant at marketing and design. Too bad his ideas flopped!

Update: company went bust. Peter lost his money. For a successful businessman I am surprised he invested because the company would have to sell a million products for him to get his money back. I usually like Duncan but I think it was fair game when he was called out for being needlessly condescending. If you arent going to invest fine but trying to humiliate a person for shits and giggles in the meantime is a bit out of order. Sometimes I wonder if the dragons do that to put the others off investment too. So if they decide they arent interested they make sure that they at least haven't passed on something another dragon might bring to market successfully.

I doubt the dragons talk something down to get the others to back off investing. I assumed it was the opposite: the dragons who are out make the entrepreneur doubt themselves so that they'll give the dragons who are in a bigger share of the business.

He’s quirky, but I think he’s very sweet and kind. I love his inventions ❤

This guy is awesome. Like he has this crazy aura about him that just, he bent reality and not only got Peter interested but had the funniest and longest polite argument back and forth with him before somehow miraculously tilting it closer into his favor again. This guy is a real gem and I hope he finds the success he wants.

yep, i think he was great, and he took on bargaining with Peter (who was the last dragon standing so he was risking losing everything) on the amount of equity - don't see that kind of haggling too often in the den.

I like the idea of his product, he just needs to make them more colorful

He is walking away less equity yes, but also the best dragon in the whole bunch. Anytime Peter gets a deal, I root for them all day!

His outward graces are minimal but his academic pedigree is impeccable and his demeanor and attitude are great. Peter Jones is a greedy goblin with his40#!

I like this guys stuff. Especially that lunch box encouraging fruit but it needs a veggie part. Hopefully it fits in that cooler thing he invented. I’d like that lunch box thing with a fruit compartment, sandwich, snack, and veggie part. Fitting inside that insulated cooler and that water bottle pen do-dad Velcro’s on it lol. Very smart Peter investing in this guy. Or offering. I haven’t seen the end yet. This guy is creative in a good way.
