    Oh I know it had to be cold! When I went out for the mail about noon yesterday, it was 39 and the wind went right through me, in Bastrop. Thank you for your dedication, even in the cold!!!

    I would take that 39 anyway of the week. It’s 17-25 in northern Indiana. As a letter carrier 39 is a warm day. My question Mike is how do you wear shorts in cold weather?

    That thing with brass on it in the survey dumpster is a fuse barrel. Used on power lines and over head transformers. The barrel part that is taped up is going to be fiberglass.

    The 1 thing you kept and threw the rubber piece back in dumpster is a air bag from tractor trailer. The piece you put back in dumpster has a stainless base and rubber can be cut off.

    Found myself out microscraping this evening. Have a load on my trailer I gotta go through. Plenty of aluminum cooling fins, some circuit boards, wire, brass, copper and metal. Gonna work on it tomorrow if weather is decent. The black round rubber with metal bottom, air bag.

    Another fab video. I spent a few hours in IKEA Dublin today and I bought some metal shelving that was slightly larger than my shopping cart and sticking out. A few times I shouted " watch your head", my other half just looked at me, shook her head and said, "who do you think you are, Mike the Scavenger"? Your famous even in Ireland Mike.!

    The item with the ring on top and the brass screw cap you found is called a fused cutout. It is used on overhead power line poles to protect the circuit. It works on the same principle as a breaker in your panel at home.

    14:00 Thats exactly what it is Mike! it's for a big truck with air brakes, it's an air suspension! I'm a Trash truck driver, the only reason why I know this

    Mike, While emptying the box to collect snibbits around 3:30 there was a box in the box full of snibbits which you threw forward. I think might have been moving a bit too fast. Great content.

    Here in CT it was almost 60 yesterday. Today the high temp was about 9AM and it's below freezing now and going lower. And getting windier. Mike wouldn't want to hop out of a dumpster into this, for sure.

    Good video and yes it was cold last night but I touched my way through it and found an x-ray machine in the Dumpster among other cool stuff. I'm thinking about putting some videos on here not sure though

    For the tin pipes, think a sledgehammer would be a good idea to smoosh it flat for compacting it, smash and fold. Just to make it easier to fold it up. Now pay no mind about being buried, just need to dig for the gold💰💰💰☺😜🕵. It's all a blessing and an adventure!!!!!

    Speaking of the wind we went without electricity all day and half the night yesterday, bringing freezing temps to the south it was a brutal brutal wind. I know it wasn't fun being out in it Mike thanks for going out for us.

    Harbor Freight batteries last much longer, especially if you get the orange ones! The blue ones are probably even better, but nothing beats the cheap yellow or orange ones.

    Mike enjoy the vidoes, keep them coming. My scarp yard will take fire extingushers, shocks, A/C bottles as long as you cut them open. Any type container or tank if cut open they will take. Happy scrapping,

    Just an FYI Mike, those ends on the vid cables, as well as most of the USB and phone chargers, are all gold plated, cut the ends off, keep the rest of the wire, you can sell the ends to gold reclaimers on Ebay. Seeing that you get enough of them, save them up in a small tote then sell, you'll get more selling them and they don't take up much of any room in storage it would certainly be worth your time just to cut the ends off and keep.

    Mike, those battery backups you found, open them up and take out the boards, snibbets and transformer is going to get you 15 to 20 bucks more and you can still scrap them out. Easy money.

    That "Brass in nature" thing is a shunt (fuse link)from an electrical service pole on the "Hot side" (high voltage side)

    I found one of those air shocks in the woods by a truck scale once. I just cut it up with an angle grinder: there was cast aluminum on it.

    13:46 no Mike those are the base bottom of a semi truck airbag, they are usually black ABS plastic, but you lucked out and got the metal version (rare). If you find a whole one (not separated), spray a flammable fluid into the hole on flat steel top you had there 14:20 , then light it and it will blow the bottom out and off the assembly.

    Mike those video cables is like what we used in the TV production lab at the College. You can get any combo cable style you want. They aren't cheap. That Dell is a server.

    You get a good price on copper...only going up, but nice to cash some in. Check commodity, you know what to do....good luck, I am surprised at copper being tosed

    The pink bottle. If it’s empty, hit it with a hatchet, give it a nice gash, the yard will take it.

    Most places will take those refrigerant tanks but you have to drill out the rupture disk so they know the tanks are completely empty. I used to get them from the dumpster by where I lived and would build up a pile of them and turn them in when I had 50 or 60 of them. Decent money.

    His yard will only take it if cut in half, same for most all yards in the area, we can't get away wit drilling a small hole
