Back in the day my husband wasn't required to wear a mask. He was never told about the dangers of asbestos. I lost him to asbestos poisoning. Stay smart and protect yourself because we love you.

My condolences for your loss. I recall when I was a kid back in the 60's asbestos was everywhere, wrapped on school steam pipes, brake liners of all vehicles back then, and even sold in a box to the public. I wonder how many others passed from asbestos related lung disease, and no one correlated this asbestos substance as disease causing. Of course then D.D.T. was widely used too. Makes you wonder how much we've been exposed to that was toxic and didn't know it.

Mike, you are a good person for recovering and donating that stuff!

I have watched him but he has nothing on you. I have a question.....are you former military? Reason I ask is I hear it your speech sometimes as well as your organization skills. Very military. I am a retired SFC US ARMY.

That metal thing with the foot petal is a hand sanitizer stand put your big jug of sanitizer step on the petal and voila you don’t have to touch the top of the sanitizer bottle to get sanitizer out ❤️🇨🇦 another great video by Mike the Scavenger

Many years ago I worked for a trash collection company and many times companies would throw away som reall good and new items. One day I asked why the just dont give the items away there reply was because of liability laws. If someone got injured by a product given away the company could be sued...

When my hubby passed I donated to the senior center and they were happy to take and knew who to distribute to .

At 30:20 the thing you are asking about, is a sheetrock banjo. Used to apply tape and mud in one pass. They are ussually aluminum to be lightweight and not rust from the mud in them.

So if you find clean clothes, toiletries, toys etc, I am confident that everything will be welcome. That wire with the funny looking shoe thing was a pure copper HV power sweep used in industrial power / handling equipment that works on 3Ph 220/440 AC. I used to work on that kind of stuff.

You can cut it out it takes two cuts the first one to cut the tubing the start from one end tightly in the vice and with your knife start enough to grip the wire and as you pull run the knife through the plastic coating it will all pull out just take time

That (bag of plastic) was a bag full of oxygen tank handles and are the type needed for the tanks that fit the tank carts that you are donating, I know that they get lost easy and would make a great addition to the cart donation.

Think about donating the forks and such to a local senior center or moose lodge. VFW or legion club.
