We were struck by lightning while driving home from Texas to Georgia. The lightning hit a tree between the lanes on I-20. It bounced off the tree and hit our vehicle. I was in the center lane. It shut off our SUV. From my memory, we were surrounded by traffic but, when the engine shut off, miraculously, all that traffic disappeared and I coasted over to the emergency lane. I was by myself with our 3 young children. We were not hurt. My daughter was screaming in the back seat. After I got everyone calmed down, I called my husband. I was able to drive home. The AC was knocked out along with the power windows. It was the middle of Summer and we still had over a thousand miles to go as we were still in Texas. My husband met us in Mobile, AL and we switched cars. The lightning did over 3 thousand dollars of electrical damage to our vehicle (insurance paid for it). We were blessed with our lives.

My husband worked for Roses for awhile. They’d throw a trash can out because it didn’t have a lid. They’d throw couches out because they were missing a pillow!!!
