sadly ratties only live 2 to 3 years. they are such wonderful little companions thats literally the only negative thing about them 😢 but the amount of love they give in that short time is immeasurable.

What i absolutely love about small animals is the amount of force they give when we grab something from them. They’re pulling with every fibre they have in their body and we’re just casually grabbing something with 1/10th the strength of pulling a lego block off of something

I love dumbo rats so much. I had a hairless one named Vanya. She was so incredibly smart. The females tend to get tumors and she did and was only with me for two years. My husband and I cried for a long time.

Rats are very social creatures (unlike the more common small pets like gerbils and hamsters). If you give them lots of love and attention when you raise them they won't run away from you. In fact, my rattie Nyx follows me around like a little puppy. :)

I have 3 girls and they crack me up every time I take them out of their cage. They definitely keep you laughing and entertained. I mostly play with mine when I come home from a bad day at work or something. They always make me forget about the bad day I've had as they are just too funny to stay angry. They have been sorta of like therapy or a sense of peace when I come home.

Aren't they just awesome like that? I look into their little faces and I can't understand for the life of me how anyone can fear and revile them. They are just so sweet, sincere, funny and loving!
