I love that image. This is the modern version of the pillory. After all the abuse Americans , especially women and people of color have had to endure for eight years, the abuseof all of us by this bully and his cult will receive their comeuppance. Although I've seen the opposite and it depends on the intensity of emotions involved, I believe it is far easier for people who dislike a defendant to be fair and objective in judging guilt or innocence about a specific crime than it is for people who like the defendant to be fair and objective. The reason for this is that those who have admired and supported the defendant in the past have a lot more ego invested, and defending one's ego is rooted in strong emotions and the avoidance of shame. Those who dislike a defendant have far less of those kinds of emotions to deal with and it is much easier for them to separate their personal feelings from their legal calculations.
