We should call him Dr. Duke Robillard. Duke, is the Wynton Marsalis of the Blues.

This must be about 1987. Duke was killing it then. Moving out of straight electric blues into some jazz, off the Strat, into archtops w/stand up bass.

wow what a great vid, thank you for this :) what a full sound for a trio. . .could've sworn there was another guitar up there. singing and playing simultaneously at that level is hellish hard to do

I saw Duke many times during this period, both at Harpers Ferry and at the Tam, and maybe Ed Burke's too, as I lived near all of them, and may have even been there when this was recorded. Duke never disappointed: He always played (and sang) great and had good backing bands. This brings back a lot of great memories, thanks for posting.

Just listened to this video in the past hour on this Christmas Eve 2013, as I have 5 inches of fluffy snow on the ground and its 8 F.outside here is southwestern Michigan. I have seen Duke many times over the years. Get better with age. Thanks for this video. By the way, who are the bass player and drummer on this? The bass player is also on Duke's material when he was in Germany at the Ohne Filter(German Public TV station SWF) from 1988.
