Duke Portal Prospect: Syracuse's All-ACC Defender Maliq Brown

Спорт

Syracuse's All-ACC Defender Maliq Brown is visiting Duke on Wednesday. Brown led the ACC with 2.2 steals per game this past season. He averaged 9.5ppg on 70%, 7 RPG, 1 BPG.
-Duke has made it clear by this freshman class and who they have targeted in the portal, x3 CAA DPYO Amari Williams, that they want to be nasty on defense.
-6’8, similar height and offensive production as Mark Mitchell but to me, he plays longer if that makes sense and is a better passer and his defensive motor is intense and consistent.

Obviosuly at this point we know he just committed. But maliq is a very good player who made the ACC All-Defensive team and led the ACC in steals while also shooting 70% from the floor. He's great defensively.

Cuse fan here. This guy leaving was the only one that really stung. My favorite player by a mile. He gives people all sorts of problems on defense - always active, always hustling, super efficient, no BS. Guy just makes winning plays left and right, even when it doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. You’re gonna love him.

Wasn’t he playing out of position tho ? Main reason he left Syracuse was cuz they forced him to play the 5 this year while recruiting a 5 star pf for next years class

Good looking player. I would have drafted him in the second round if he declared. Tools and nba body. Just needs the shot to come around.

It was a shocker that he left, I thought he'd be the one to stay, but defensive intensity from this kid is off the charts, only weakness, the big boys killed him on the glass, too skinny to be in the front court ACC, the Big's killed him, great kid, good luck, Cuse out!

I'm glad you said it, Nike game showed me maluach ain't ready for prime time yet. With his talents he should have been more dominant, going to have major adjustment to college game play.
