I have seen a lot of dugouts, but this by far is the best design I've seen. Brother you have built a house quality structure that exceeds camping needs and has progressed into a viable living space. Beautiful craftsmanship all the way around.

Now here's a great example of a "man". He can build anything with his hands, he's tender and loving to animals, not afraid of a little hard work. ...... And he's definitely not hard on the eyes either 😍 Most of the men in the city I'm from don't even know how to use a screwdriver 😮‍💨

I'm impressed with the sheets of plywood on wheelbarrow w/o spilling over, lol. That is not easy to do on a good flat surface! Love your channel. I'm 64 and building my own tiny cabin.

The way he is using the wood to tighten each fitting is super smart and will increase the durability a bunch.

When you want to split a little piece of wood, then you can split it by placing the sharp end of the axe on the side of the wood, so that the wood and the axe keeps touching each other, when you strike both the wood and the axe down at the same time towards the ground or another piece of wood. That way, you don't risk hurting your hand when splitting a little piece of wood for the fire etc.

Wow. This is like a real Anglo-Saxon grubenhaus/pit-house or Viking house. Great approach, materials, method, ethic, aesthetic and also location. This is the best one I've seen yet. So many seem like they all use dead fall old (rotting?) stripped pine logs. Watching this is probably as close as you'll get to the main spirit of the frontier of 449 CE to 600 CE, that is, the Anglo-Saxon Conquest of Britain/the founding of England by people mainly from Denmark and Friesland.

Looks like it may fill with water. You could dig a guttering system/french drain around the shelter if you find it's filling with water. Nice build though.

Your channel came up in my menu today, this is the 3rd video I have watched and find it so fascinating that you can figure out how to build all of these little encampments........I do agree, it would help with mental health/stress....the manual physical assertion, the mental thoughts of design and implementation and then enjoying the accomplishment, well done, almost wish I had gone this route in my youth.....whats kind of dog is that, is it a Belgium Malinois? and whats her name, she is so beautiful 😍
