@@furiousstyles27 Chew strongly scented gum. It gives your brain something to focus on and will trick it in to smelling the gum over the trash... except when you gets bags of crap or a dead animal, theres no stopping that stench

I enjoy watching these videos. There's something so relaxing about watching garbage being dumped into the pit, the sounds of the garbage trucks, and even then environment itself. This is definitely ASMR in a trashy way (pardon the pun😆).

I lnow it's more asking for luck than anything else but I always try to find nice things like fashion magazines or even woman clothes in the trash in those videos 🤭 You can't do much for that, but if you notice one of these one day, I would love if you could either zoom or do something to show it better 😁

I have never seen a small waste management garbage truck quite like that one before. Can someone better explain its anatomy or perhaps provide a link to more information about that one specifically? AWESOME video btw! 😁

This particular Mimi pack truck the chassis is a freight-liner and the body was build by heil. It has a 10 or 12 yard box on it that holds the waste material. On the back of the body there is a glass box. It is mostly use for county routes that require a small truck to get through the narrow roads that a full sized truck can’t fit down. It also has two cart tippers one on each side. Thanks for watching!

@@AllThingsDope. Random question but I noticed the garbage truck still had bits of trash and such left inside after dumping the load, does someone have to clean that out afterwards or do they just simply keep picking up new garbage and never bother cleaning it out since itll just get dirty again?

@@AllThingsDope. Hi thanks so much for the explanation, wondering what do y'all do if you find electronic pieces mixed in the trash, like say broken circuit board pieces or like memory chips etc? I'd imagine it's pretty rare considering how small those would be among all the garbage and the general speed one needs to move with at a transfer station or landfill but I'm just curious.

Do the drivers just tarp up and leave or does the trash get packed in the trailers else where before leaving for the landfill? I work in the trash industry as well here in Nashville. Interesting to watch and see other transfer stations system/set-up. We have compactors we load into that load tube trailers.

Yes the trailers have auto tarps. So the driver will throw a switch and a tarp will roll over the trailer then it’s ready for transport to the landfill. Thanks for watching and commenting!

That's crazy how it took almost 4 minutes or so to dump out the mini truck, yet the full size front loader is unloaded in less than a minute! :0 i guess having a larger packer blade and a bigger and faster cycling hydraulic system helps a lot

Yeah it’s pretty crazy the difference! I have seen these trucks dump countless times but until you get a real time view of both trucks we are not really aware of the difference. it puts it into perspective.

I work at a park district and we have a pup mini compactor for an f550 and it sucks to empty. Since the door swings on a hinge there always is stuff stuck on the door and you legit have to pick it out. The most awful smell.

@@AllThingsDope. Fortunatly I do not. During the summer we go out to do a round twice a week with it (usually get about 3/4 ton of waste, nothing compared to these bigger trucks). The garbage dump we go to is a very new one so its got some type of mister to keep either dust down or the smell down since its kind of in a nicer area.

@@headlessguy8733 Waste to energy isn't necessarily better for the environment, its just bad in a different way. Many Scandinavian waste to energy plants were found to be polluting the surrounding areas with various chemicals and by products.

It is a satisfying job. The smell can be really bad and some days not so much. It depends on what was dumped. There are some compactor loads that only get dumped once a month so you could imagine the smell of month old rotten trash. Thanks for watching!

Yes exactly that. Those life gates are only held up by a $10 hydraulic hose. So we don’t want to get underneath them.

Believe it or not most of your recycling goes right to the dump anyways. All the effort of separating your shit to be hauled in a different truck to a different place where people go to sort shit that mostly gets tossed in the garbage. All that so someone can drive over to take it to the dump where it should have gone in the first place. If you care about the environment do the world a favor, unless it's glass, metal or hazardous waste just throw your shit in the garbage.

@@Eargesplitten-Loudenboomer very true. Since china stopped buying our recyclables a few years ago. A large portion of it ends up in the landfill. Another issue is most people and I mean most do not recycle properly anyways, so the load is deemed contaminated and therefore gets sent to land fill. Thanks for commenting.

I remember my dad and I got a tour of the facility for my birthday when I was young, probably 12 years ago or something. I was a garbage truck fan big time back then. Nice people, they showed us around and everything.

Lol! That’s a great question. Sometimes if we are lucky someone will dump a load of krispy cream donuts so that helps with the smell. Mostly we just hose the floor down a lot.

The dock man only needed part of his load to fill the trailer so he instructed the driver to give him only a few tons then pull forward to dump on the floor. Thanks floor watching a commenting!

They call it the “hole” there is a 53’ trailer down there that they fill full of trash. Then It is transported to the landfill.

Slow dump, not well packed and damn . Why so far forward. Put that in the hole. Making extra work for the loader. 2nd truck is a proper dump. 1st driver is a rookie.

I agree mostly. Only thing is with the mini packer since the dump controls are on the back of the truck by the lift gate. He is not allowed to dump in the hole since he would be closer than 10ft. This facility doesn’t want anyone closer than that as it’s a potential fall hazard. Thanks for watching and commenting!

There is a trailer in the pit that can only hold so many tons. So when it’s full or close the workers have the garbage trucks dump on the floor so they don’t over fill the trailer. Thanks for watching and commenting!

A body was dumped at this transferstaion earlier this year. The police knew how and where the body was disposed so they where able to watch back the surveillance videos at the station to find the suspicious containers that the body was in. the ended up finding the body at the landfill.
