Dueling Banjos: How I play the Guitar Part

Музыка

Go to 11:51 to see it played all the way through without stopping.
Here I take you step by step through the popular banjo tune "Dueling Banjos," originally called "Feuding Banjos" by Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith, in which he and Don Reno both played banjos -- Arthur on plectrum and Don on 5-string. They traded some incredible hot licks at a fast pace throughout the tune. Here, I follow the more recognized "Deliverance" format, starting slow, then building up speed.
Tab and play-along tracks at different speeds can be found at my website, littlerockguitar.com.
I have posted this video for instructional (teaching) purposes only and, in my opinion, it constitutes fair use:

Hope you enjoy.

These never gets old - some of us have the bad habit of taking long breaks and then having to start over. Thanks, your approach to teaching is among the best.

Played for 10 + years and put down for nearly the same. My Mum gifted me a Strat when I was 18, she passed quickly from Cancer last year. I got it back from the guitar shop where it was being restored from damp and this is my 1st song to learn from scratch again (traditionally I'm lead). It's like coming home playing again, brings tears to my eyes. Incredible production and video. Thank you

I've come a very long way but got a long way to go. I've got my basic chords down and strumming so I'm upping the ante by trying to learn how to pick an use tabs. I still love playing and still eager to keep learning. 2020 and still helping folks. Thanks dude

I just got a guitar a few weeks ago an I'm past the sore fingers. This will be my first song (I hope) it gets a little hard when my grand babies are here though. Your just laid back and getting into it being all relaxed. Can't wait until i can do that being the party starter. I have checked out every YT lesson on this song i can find, an believe me ( YOU ARE THE BOSS! ) but dang you make it look easy so easy. So for the past month or so that's been most of my views an minutes earned and enjoying every minute of it!! Thank you very much for sharing! Cheers Ed. P.S. Thinking it's time to sub your channel...
