If I had a nickel for everytime David Tennant was in a show that gave him a clone daughter, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

There's quite a few Doctor Who references in this series. Magika is voiced by one of the Doctor's former companions, and there's an episode where the Doctor has a daughter through cloning. (Both of those things were from the David Tennant era of the show, btw)

The fact that this finale had a twist related to the true identity of "Manny the headless manhorse" is enough proof of why it was so great. I love how they turned this weird character into a recurring thing.

I would’ve NEVER imagined Keith David to be the true voice of Manny, much less him being the most powerful magical being alive!

Don’t be bummed. DuckTales could return as a Disney+ original in the form of a continuation series or a movie. Or maybe both. The actors stated the possibility of that happening and the creators don’t seem to be against it. Who knows? Maybe Disney will announce something about it in a few months.

It’ll feel weird since Max literally grew up in the 90’s. He’s drenched in it. He was a little kid in Goof Troop, a teen in Goofy movie, a young adult in Extremely goofy movie, and an working adult in House of Mouse. If they rebooted it, it would be so weird cuz Max would be young again. If anything tho, maybe a story with Max as an adult who married Roxanne or something and Goofy as the crazy grandfather who takes his grandchildren out to do stuff, which is reminiscent of Duck Tales (but that’s fine since the nephews never aged), but I don’t want to see max grow up again...u know?

you missed the one big moment. The reason Von Drake was there! He was so busy with work, he just never got around to dying! XD

In my opinion Ducktales 2017 is the greatest reboot ever done. I'm really going to miss this show.

@@F2PAlius live-action sitcoms are easier and cheaper to setup and record then for animations and Phineas and Ferb was just way too popular. And it had a ton fans ranging from all agents.

@@davrosdaleks1 No they have a 4 season limit usually, Bunk'd for some reason got a 5th season but they are usually known to end shows at 4 seasons. Ducktales was cancelled before that but luckily the crew was able to rework season 3's ending to be a pretty satisfying finale for the most part and that is something even some disney shows with 4 seasons couldn't do (cough star vs the forces of evil cough).

I will always be thankful that this series showed so much love for Darkwing Duck, who was my absolute favorite out of all the Disney Afternoon shows. This reboot is the legacy that the Disney Afternoon planted and I'm so happy Matt, Frank and DT17's cast/crew for blossoming it into existence.

And there's a reason the series treated Darkwing and his world so well: Frank is a HUGE Darkwing fan. He said that one of his favorite Disney Villains is Negaduck, which is why they choose to leave him as an unresolved issue, since the only role they could think of for him in this season was one they felt did him a huge disservice. He also said that his favorite Darkwing enemy was Darkwing's own ego, which i think shows he personally understood Darkwing to a deep level.

Ducktales has now officially come and gone twice now. And what an amazing time it has been. It's probably the best reboot we're gonna get in a long time.

Sad that Manny the Headless Man-horse is the closest thing we'll get to a Gargoyles crossover.

I read an interview Den of Geek did with Matt Youngberg and Frank Angones, where they said the big problem with trying to incorporate the Gargoyles series is because Gargoyles largely featured a human cast, something they really don't have in DuckTales.

I lost it at the Gargoyles reference! 🤣

I'd actually put this about equal to Ninja Turtles 03-07, pre-Fast Forward, as they both revived their franchises & made them a lot better. I really like the Nickelodeon version but not as much as the 03-07 incarnation

@@melanieberthelo9582 I think they stuck too close to the Mirage comics and the few changes they did make didn’t work for me. 2012 TMNT was very much it’s own thing while still being true to every incarnation to that point. And I can’t help but respect a show more for doing that.

I loved the new Ducktales... The greatest thing outside of the Disney Afternoon and original Disney Channel references, is the fact that they made Gizmo Duck Latino.... That made me smile, being Latino and the fact that Gizmo Duck was my favorite character in the original Ducktales cartoon..

Launchpad turning into Gizmoduck is the ducktales equivalent of captain America picking up Thor's hammer.

If they did a Gargoyles reboot, I would be so happy!

Jordan Peele is more than willing to make a movie. He even approached Disney with the idea, but they choose to wait until he was too busy to work on the project.

“Gummy Beaaaaars! Bouncing here, and there, and everywhere. High adventure that’s beyond compare. They are the Gummy Bears!” I have not seen or hear anything about that show in over two decades and the mention of them immediately brought that song to my brain like I heard it yesterday.

This series has been wonderful and easily one of the best series introduced in the past 5 years. I would easily place this among the likes of: Batman the Animated Series, Avatar the Last Airbender, Ninja Turtles 03-07 (pre Fast Forward), & Teen Titans 03-07. Jaleel White also voiced original cartoon Sonic. I knew they put in a lot of references but didn't know what all the references were about.

I can't lie that my jaw dropped when the twist with Webby was revealed. Her being Scrooge's daughter was NOT something I would've seen coming. Does annoy me that, since this was the finale, we won't get to see the father/daughter relationship between Scrooge and Webby develop

that's the point, Webby never needed to be officially Scrooge's daughter, she's been accepted into their family since the start. The fact Webby was the only one able to get the Parchment, and not May and June who are still direct descedents of Scrooge, is a testament to this series's theme as a whole that there's more to being a family then just a blood relation.

Yeah the DT17 staff planned a lot of the basic plot line since the start, heck one of the co-creators even said a reason they were able to get Bradford’s VA was because they told him their plans for him

It was a total jawdropping moment when it was revealed Manny was Goliath. That was THE best scene in the entire episode. I LOVE the design of Manny with the little hoof claws on his wings. Keith David was totally eager to voice the character too. Saying "Anything to bring the show back!" I also love that it was a Scottish bagpipe that allowed him to talk since Goliath was from Scotland (but in Ducktales resembles the London clan more *lol*) Webby revealing to be Scrooge's daughter I kinda saw coming. There'd been hints that she was connected to the clan in some form. I basically completly figured it out in "The First Adventure" episode. I just didn't expect Webby to really be April. The only thing that was never revealed tho was who Huey, Louie, and Dewey's dad is. It's NEVER brought up! Like WTF?!

The new Ducktales is a great example of how to do a reboot of a classic Cartoon properly and respectfully when you honor the past. I was happy to see this show to its end and I am glad to see the finale as it was. Although to be honest, I was truly surprised by the Gargoyles reference in the finale as that caught me off guard.

It was Bradford all along.

The show was phenomenal. Going to truly miss it. As someone who grew up with the Disney Afternoon it was a perfect direction for a reboot and an example of how reboots should be done.

I loved that they got Riki Lindhome to voice May, so she and Kate Micucci could have a Garfunkel and Oates reunion!

I didn’t know this show was ending! Looking forward to hearing about it as always!

The S3 poster was kind of a foreshadow of everyone being blown out by the plain. This will be in one of my Top 10 favourite finales in history. Truly perfect 10/10

I think launchpad being gizmo duck is a reference to one of the older DuckTales1987 episodes; where Huey Dewey and Louie think that launchpad is gizmo duck

Is anyone going to tell Drake Mallard that Gizmoduck isn’t Launchpad this whole time sure made Fenton pissed at him while getting interrupted by Drake love the finale as a whole

1: I was very satisfied by this ending 2: it made me cry hearing the theme song one last time and knowing it’s all over These things are not mutually exclusive

The biggest spoiler plot twist of the series is actually a spectacular reference to one of the episodes of Doctor Who David Tennant was in during his time as the 10th Doctor.

So I always thought the whole "webby is the only clone who can access the contract" was because she was the only clone that scrooge acknowledged as family. But maybe that's just me

I heard there is a DarkWing Duck project by Seth Rogen coming up.

They really need to do a spin off of some of these characters in the ducktails show, specifically a rescue rangers and darkwing duck show

Just the level of attention in this show made me really love it. This was the best reboot I ever seen. This is Disney’s lost hopefully it comes back to on Disney Plus.

Now let's hope we get a Dawkwing Duck spinoff!

Recess should get a reboot and bring in characters from the other shows that were a part of Disney’s One Saturday Morning.

This reboot was the King of all reboots. Everything was executed flawlessly and respectfully. The team behind this show went above and beyond (and then some) to deliver the most high quality reboot and series Disney channel has ever seen.

Just finished all 3 seasons... this may be the greatest reboot and fan service ever!

I've only recently redubbed to Disney+, and binged the series over last week. This. This is how you do a show, and this is how you do a reboot. I'm sad it's over, but the show was able to tell great stories without overstaying it's welcome.

One thing that really interest me was Donald and Daisy apparently going to take May and June on their trip. Considering Donald's past experience as a parental figure, it would have been a nice sight to see more of that with Daisy and taking May and June under their wing. Anyone else notice May and June being grouped together with Lena and Violet during the fall? I wonder if it means something too.

The original Duck Tales got a movie. I want new Duck Tales to get a movie too. Make it take maybe a couple months after the finale.

Webby being Scrooge’s clone daughter made me think of Logan/Wolverine’s clone Laura/X 23! Now that was a mind blowing twist ending! Also Andre, seen any of the other Disney cartoons like Amphibia or The Owl House those were great shows! And have you been able to check out the Netflix shows I recommended (Glitch Techs and Kid Cosmic) cause I would love you to review them!

Right now that show is one of those underrated gems that deserves more attention. You as a fellow nerd know of the type i mean I'm sure 😄 The other two shows mentioned are also the same I'm fairly certain 😛

I absolutely LOVED this series. Such a throw back for a 90's kid. Makes me wanna watch Darkwing Duck and the og Ducktales. The references were one of the best parts.

I was glad to see the Rescue Rangers albeit a brief cameo.

Yea this show was a modern masterpiece; perfect 3 seasons and outstanding series finale; it will be missed

My favourite move of Ducktales was taking Bubba Duck (the most HATED character from the original) and turn him into the first McDuck ONLY to see if people would get mad.

Bradford also reveals that he was the reason Della ended up in the moon. Glad Magica turn that deluded buzzard into an actual buzzard and made into a pet

"I'm not a villain. I'm a businessman." The line between them is so thin it's already gone.

So one of my favorite things about this show is that you have a civilization of avians, dogs, etc., in a world where there are still actual birds. The very first thing we see is a seagull being shooed by a sentient duck fisherman. I always thought that was the show being tounge in cheek and being ironic. But I think that was them forshadowing turning Bradford into a buzzard-buzzard. Speculation, but damn, that is set up if it is.

My love for this version of Webby Vanderquack cannot be overstated. She's the adventurous nerdy heroine I always wanted but never got, growing up in the late 70s/early 80s. I'm not sure how I'll fill the gap she's leaving behind -- possibly Gosalyn with the upcoming Darkwing reboot? Her I actually LIKED in her original incarnation -- but I'm glad she was in my life for at least a little while.

The only thing that I wanted that I didn't get was Goldie and Scrooge finally getting back together.

This was pretty much the Disney Afternoon version of Avengers: Endgame, they even had Bradford go all Thanos at the end with the upgraded armor and the plan to wipe people out of existence in a misguided attempt at harmony.

The DuckTales finale reminds me of Batman Beyond. Or more specifically, Justice League Unlimited. Just as genetic engineering created Terry McGinnis from Bruce Wayne, genetic engineering also created Webby Vanderquack from Scrooge McDuck.

If you haven't seen the episode, "the Duck Knight Returns" is basically an instruction manual for how to do a reboot.

It was kinda cute when June called Heron "mommy".

I'll be honest. I've only seen one episode of the new Ducktales, but I'd love to see more. That sounds like a great ending. I can't wait to see it on Disney Plus. When it comes to reboots, I'd love to see a reboot of the Mighty Ducks cartoon. Just so the real life Ducks team can advertise themselves. 🤣

a little refference i loved it's that when donald put the rock to protect scrooge he says "donald duck" and donald answers "uncle scrooge" just like they do on the first episode when they talk to each other after so many years

There was a marathon of the series finale episode on Disney XD yesterday. All I can say is it was enjoyable.

My favorite nod was how Gene the Genie talked about being trapped in that lamp since "the bygone year of 1990", *which was when his original movie came out.* Absolutely genius.

I wish Goldie had a speaking roll in the finale of the show. I loved the episode she was in

I can imagine how challenging it must've been to cram several dozen characters into an hour-long special while also granting each of them a chance to shine. And for the most part, they succeeded. Although, I wish several other characters got a chance to do something big, like Daisy, Panchito, Jose, and Penumbra. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with what we got here, and at least the show ended on a high note. And Manny... I was absolutely thrilled when he turned out be this show's version of Goliath! What better way to send off the Disney Afternoon references than with the dark horse of that block... with an actual dark horse.

I don't like to admit it, but the end credits brought a tear in my eyes

Watching the ending credits legit made me tear up. Ducktales and Darkwing Duck and Tailspin were parts of my childhood... But this show is just as, if not even more dear to me. I will miss this show, this gorgeous product of love and attention. But all things must come to an end, and this show is no different, but maybe if we're lucky it'll be the start of something completely new. Also; Fact Check, Webby(April) May AND June were made as clones of Scrooge directly. They took DNA from Scrooge originally in that Gummy Berry Juice episode you mentioned, and the second time they took his DNA was in the Sword of Swanstentine episode. Both were to make Scrooge clones.

From what I understood, Bradford used the first DNA sample to create Webby, but he was stalled when Mrs Beakley found the baby. May and June were created from the DNA, either from Webby or Scrooge (I suspect the former, since the Papyrus of Binding went solely to Webby). Then May and June were aged up using the Fountain of Youth that had been found to age younger people to give the youth to older people.

Now can we get....... 1) Dark Wing Duck reboot 2) Goof Troop reboot 3) Rescue Rangers reboot 4) Tail Spin reboot C'MON DISNEY!!!!

Ninja turtles cartoon came out in 87 too.

Ended too soon, absolutely. Had a couple of errant mysteries that could have been explored, sure. But even so, it wrapped elegantly. Ducktales was amazing consistently in shoring up every facet of Duck media globally into something reverent of the past that was still grounded in refreshing modernity. Even as a reboot, it's not like anything that came before it while simultaneously representing everything that came before it. And that is exactly what a reboot ought to strive for. In an era that bemoans the reboot as the death of originality and the vandalism of cherished memories, Ducktales stands as a monument that shouts to my weary, embattled generation: "Yes, this can, in fact, be done right."

I didn't even realize that Wuzzle ref until you mention it and I think you're right! It would fit too with the whole of the show. This version of Ducktales is basically what you said about a reboot done right and I think if any other show has done it, it would be hard to reach the same level. I can't decided on another show that I would like to see reboot in a similar fashion but would love to see some of the old shows finally make an appearance on Disney+ itself.

Bradford's contract had quite a few loopholes, The spot he put Scrooge in was an adventure, plus there's no way for Scrooge to not have an adventure, his family deals with magic and super science, dude has super villains and super heroes in his life, plus Bradford going full on final boss (Can we have a Ducktales reboot game please?) Scrooge is forced into an adventure no matter what, plus the man said so himself Scrooge will find a way out because he's Scrooge Mc Duck, that contract was lull an void the moment it was printed. Just remembered something the contract stated no harm will come to Scrooge's family as long as Scrooge doesn't go on anymore adventures, But Bradford stupidly tried to harm Donald there for he voided the contract.

WHY MUST ALL THE GOOD STUFF END!!!??? We got 20 seasons of American idol but we can only get 3 seasons of DuckTales!!!!

2:35 -- Kind of surprised it didn't turn out that Shere Khan's company wasn't bankrolling FOWL too, albeit knowingly, since we had the TAIL SPIN inclusion. Maybe that's something they'd intended until the cancellation order came down :( 9:00 - 9:45 -- Wooo.... that felt like the first time I read an explanation for the "Instrumentality" plotline from EVANGELION. Only thing missing was Austin Powers lamenting that he'd just gone cross-eyed.

I would hope for a direct sequel line into a full Darkwing series within the same Universe as I'm just not ready to give up on this cast of characters completely. It was fun, Imaginitive, and a true labor of love for the original series and the comics it came from. And I seriously busted a gut once Manny transformed fully.

I legit binge watch the entire series in 2 weeks after watching half of this review. I had no intentions of watching this show until I heard part of this review and I had to go watch the show and it is by all means one of the best reboot shows I've watched maybe ever. I didn't realize it was three seasons so I was really upset to see it end.

I hope they do a new spinoff with Darkwing after what happens with the creation of Negaduck.
