DUCK HUNTING On A SPRING FED Pond! | They Wouldn't Leave!
Спорт
The freeze was starting to set in on the last day of our Oklahoma so we headed out to a spring fed pond in hopes of getting on one more ice hole hunt to wrap things up. We were pleasantly surprised to find an open hole when we arrived and within a couple minutes of throwing out the spread, we had gadwalls, wigeon, and teal trying to dump in to the decoys. The action stayed pretty consistent throughout the morning and we were able to knock down an all drake limit for Wade to retrieve. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks Mikkel! I hope you are able to make it over here at some point! I'd love to go hunt over in your neck of the woods one day as well. How was your season over there this year?
Another great video brother!

It'll be coming this summer!
Great dog work, keep them coming. Try some Woodduck Lodge in north eastern AR. Great late season hunts!

Thanks Wesley! I was hoping to make it to AR for a few days this season but just couldn't make it happen. I really want to try chasing woodies and mallard around in the flooded trees sometime soon though!

@@HokeOutdoors 10 4 I hear ya man. Woodduck Lodge is pit blinds in soy/rice/corn fields: specks, gads, mallards, shovelers. But anyways keep them coming. For timber you know where to go.
Have you ever considered using a red dot sight or easyhit px 2000?
10:18 hahahaha ☠
Are you still using franchi infinity 3 ?
Hey what choke do you use for ur shotgun?
Can you do a video on the shotguns you use?

For sure, thinking about adding another one to the arsenal this off-season actually!
Good hunt! I like that dog, slow and methodical
i shot my first gadwall in south carolina this year and he had purple in his head pretty cool bird
I'm wondering if that hen that kept hanging around had some avian influenza. I had a gadwall that I shot way later in the season than Gadwalls should be around for. She was alone on a small hole in the ice and I jumped her. When I cleaned her she was really skinny. No fat and her breasts went concave after the keel.
Purple on the head is the final transition or the gaddys plumage.
What is ur preference of choke? Full? Modified?

Franchi Affinity 3 with a Carlsons light modified choke
I hunt in western oregon and I get a good shoot early like you said but the 10 o'clock flight is way better. Lots more birds. Funny how that works no matter where your at. I felt sorry for the wife that had to go look at her dead husband laying on the ice. You shouldn't have shown that. Come on, show some compassion for wildlife.

I was on the fence about including it for that reason, it was a sad moment and not something that I enjoyed seeing during the hunt. In the end I decided to show it because of how unique the behavior was, I felt that it really demonstrated the survival mode these birds go into during a hard freeze
