Ducati Panigale V4 | Rear Rotor and Hub Install

Welcome back to the channel. Today we installed a new rotor on the Ducati V4. During the install, I came across a little problem with the Hub bearings. I ended up having to buy a whole new Hub. Today I installed both the Hub and Rotor. I bought the Rotor from Motomillion.com, Braking is the brand name. The Hub from the Ducati Dealership.
Part number for the Hub: #75630071A

Your hub was fine take some scotch bright get as much corrosion off as possible and use a good about of high friction grease reinstall you said it yourself the bearings were spinning fine that's all that matters

I removed my hub from a 2012 MTS,it looked exactly the same as yours, horrible(only 16k miles). I cleaned it up best as I could but it will get replaced the next time i get new tires.

It's odd that they get that way so fast. Almost like they weren't properly greased at the factory.

I bought bearings for 230 Euro's and replaced the ones in the hub myself. Maximum 2 hours of labor and wayy cheaper

That's the route I was going at first, clean the hub and replace the bearings. However, I could not get a hold of a bearing set through Ducati. I believe I found an aftermarket set on Ebay, but I did not want to risk it and went with buying a new assembly. Then I cleaned up my old one, repacked the bearings and sold it on Ebay, and got the majority of my money back.

@@MotoGarageTV Don't get it through Ducati tho.. don't think they would be keen just to sell you the parts instead of the whole thing. Here are the part numbers you need for the hub: - 1x BAH0175-SKF (bearing) - 1x RNA4910-2RS-SKF (bearing) - 2x OAS-58X72X6-NBR (dust seal) And these are the parts for the swingarm pivot: - 2x HK2520-2RS-SKF (bearing) - 2x 6005-2RSH-C3-NSK (bearing) - 2x BD-25X32X4-NBR (shaft seal)

Using a plastic bag on the rear axle nuts looks a good idea. My impact drive left a few marks. I don't have a hoist, so could I put a scissor jack table under the exhaust when I remove the rear paddock stand? Great video.

Yeah, the bag is thin enough to fit over and protect. Sometimes I use a blue shop paper towel. They work pretty well.

@@MotoGarageTV Do you known if scissor table under exhaust is safe to safe to support rear end?

Do u prefer to use that pipe with a regular rear stand , instead of single sided rear stand ?

To me, it's more stable. I have a Bursig Stand that the bike is usually on. But while on the lift i have a better piece of mind with the pipe and a regular rear stand

If the axle should be able to come out of the hub is there any need to undo the pinch bolts? I ask because I need to replace the rear disc.

You shouldn't have to undo the pinch bolts. For me, I figured something was preventing my axle from sliding out, and I figured it must be the pinch bolts.

I was trying to remove the axle to replace the brake rotor, and that's when I noticed a problem. The axle was seized inside the hub.
