Visordown Motorcycle Reviews: Is Ducati's new Multistrada 950 the firm's most accessible all-rounder yet? We think so.
Just because it’s the smallest capacity Multistrada, don’t go thinking that it’s anything like a lesser bike - it’s got a suite of electronics, a crisp info-packed monochrome LCD dash screen derived from the 1200 (that moved around with the lightest of touches), plus fully adjustable suspension at both ends. And if course it looks every bit like it should thanks to the subframe, trellis frame and styling including that beak-y front end (if not the entirety of its bodywork), that it shares with the bigger 1200.
Its geometry is the same too - a good blend of ‘sporting Ducati values and comfort’, says Ducati and I’m inclined to agree. The double-sided swingarm is derived from the unit on the Multistrada 1200 Enduro and means you can fit the accessory spoked wheels if you’re keen enough to take the 950, with its not-that-great ground clearance, on an off-road expedition, where you'll soon be testing the techno-polymer sump guard.
The high-exit silencer is from the Enduro too, although the rest of the exhaust system is unique to this bike. The cast alloy 19 inch front wheel also gives the 950 a bit more in common with the Enduro.
The seat is unique to the 950 and is 840mm high - the lowest in the Multistrada range. I’m 5ft 7” and had to shuffle half an arse cheek off the seat to get a foot flat on the floor but it’s not something that put me off (looking decidely ungainly when paddling it about is more likely to do that) because the balance of the bike is so right and at 204kg dry (or 229kg wet with the 20 litre tank 90% full), its weight is easily manageable.

I bought this bike 2 years ago, and I still enjoy all I can do with it. Long ride with luggage, alone or with a passenger, I even did track racing (need to remove the back seat, and the rear view mirrors). I was just a bit disappointed with the exhaust sound, until I get the MIVV one. No need to change anything more, as of now...

Awesome video!! :) I had a 1200 Multi and also a 950 Multi. Now I have a V4 Pani, a motorcycle with sooo much power, that for my riding stile, it works more as a mobile piece of art than as a fun machine for the streets. Having said that, I would like to own the off-spring of a Multi 950 with a V4 pani. Maybe a Multi 750 V4. :)

I wonder if Ducati make silver frames only so they can make a red one as an update.

The voice over sounds like its been made at the library - its almost like a soft whisper. It's the same tone throughout, like you're completely bored of the bike.

I have heard the Hypermotard has issues, which shares it's engine with this bike. Might be something worth looking into.

221kg at 113bhp? the new ktm superadventure 's is 230kg at 160bhp and this bikes direct competition is something like a mt09 tracer..and in those regards this bike has no chance..

The Tracer is the lightest in the class by far, only thing that comes close is the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce. Even the Triumph Tiger 1050 is about 230kg wet

but this bike has a inch wheel and you can take to moderate offloading. What neither has that for me is not a good sign is cruise control. So for that the Tiger 800 is still the better bike IMHO.

New KTM Superadventure weighs like the Multistrada 1200, 232 kg. Also reducing the displacement, there is little saving of weight.

67claudius except the multistrada's claimed 160bhp is closer to 130bhp on a dyno where as the ktm is around 157bhp...
