Ducati Monster part that you should consider installing

This video is my my experience with my like-new but low mileage, preowned 2020 Ducati Monster 821 motorcycle. An awesome naked bike riding experience! -For free means I didn't have to pay extra after paying for the bike:)

As far as weight saving goes, your best option for removing weight from a bike that is extremely light to begin with and doesn’t really need it is carbon fiber parts, for example the Remus carbon fiber Ducati racing exhaust I have on my monster or the carbon fiber rear mudguard I have carbon fiber rims would be your biggest weight saving, short of that you’re really not doing anything.

it's just for fun so really jusy an individual thing. A few pounds to even ten pounds is something. For the most part doesn't really matter on a monster. best weight gain would be my body/belly:)

I did this exact thing to my 821. Perfecto!

One more thing I put on this bike and maybe many of the Ducatis need is the high power lithium battery. The heat of the motor kills lead batteries. Just rode this evening and man does this open motor with the huge headers cook the lower body.

@MattHallJava After my factory equipped lead acid battery died within the 1st year I owned it due to we have very hot summers in conjunction with the battery right below the rear header. It gets cooked just like your legs. I went with the Antigravity brand. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B079TXKDSK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Way more reliability and more cranking power plus weighs 3x less. Also very good idea to buy a not expensive Lithium battery maintainer/charger. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06X9GGNZC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

@@GettingthruLife Awesome! I'm all about dropping weight on this 821. The Termi exhaust dropped a huge amount, but now it's just about chipping away a few pounds here and there. Thanks for the battery info. This is gold!

@MattHallJava you will be amazed at the difference in weight between the two battery types. I made a install video battery video and just a general lithium upgrade battery video.

Great, I've done this yesterday with the evotech parts. I think it looks cleaner. And as a bonus my heels do't touch the rear pegs anymore. I ride on my toes and I have quite large feet.

I have absolutely zero regrets going with rear peg removal. The evotech exhaust hanger looks way better and completes the Termigonini package.

I like it a whole bunch still even after time has passed. Absolutely have no regrets adding this part. Yes, not very much weight lost but it does cut off a few pounds.

Certainly looks cleaner. I was going to purchase one last night, but the start date is model year ‘18. I may look for a different manufacturer, though I like the brand that you used.

Personally (and don't shoot the messenger here as this is for other folks viewing this video) removing the rear pegs doesn't change the look for the better (IMHO) and you're saving next to nothing in weight for the dollars spent. Want to save weight? Save your $$$ and get a Lithium battery next time you have to replace your battery. Spend your money on tools and accessories like Pit-Bull bike stands for servicing and storage.

It doesn't save anything substantial in weight is correct in somes view but it does save some weight and mass. Not that I am road racing mine at a high level of competition where the difference would be noticed. Nonetheless, Porsche on their GT-3 I think I recall uses a sticker instead of their slightly heavier emblem on their hood to save weight. Weight savings is weight saving where also the rider could just skip lunch that day and save weight. In reality, it's more about visual and personal taste on a Ducati Monster. I absolutely enjoy the look with the passenger pegs/brakets being deleted where that area becomes simplified and cleaner looking. All comes down to the eye of the beholder. Not for you then completely understandable. No harm, no foul letting me know your opinion. Note: Even the Finance Manager, all the staff live for Ducati at Ducat Dallas and race. During a brief /mindless discussion (back months ago) when I purchased the bike, he was like yea and then down the road you could remove the pass pegs and add the lighter weight/cleaner looking exhaust hanger. His opinion. Evotech exhaust bracket was $83. A premium Lithium battery (don't want to skimp) costs around $200+. Buy it at Ducati and $300 plus. Weight savings not much more than the removed passenger pegs, 9-10 Lb. Also, need to purchase a new battery charger/tender costing up to an additional $100 plus. What's more beneficial about Lithuim battery = higher output/better cranking power, way more charge cycles, and higher output for increased spark. (maybe down the road when my lead acid eom ducati battery dies) I have a battery tender so mine will likely last longer than a person with no battery charge monitoring. Note: I have a premium Woodcraft brand rear stand.
