    That seat looks appropriately tough - I think I've seen that kind of foam inside my sofa, quality stuff. Looking forward to seeing what the upholsterers do!

    Me too, although it'll be ready way head of the body it'll be nice to bring a part of it to life. And the foam is tough, but still comfy enough.

    Amazing how something as basic as adding seat foam can really alter the lines and proportions - looks really good. Must be nice to do some straightforward glass-fibre-ing after the complications of split-moulds. Have you decided how you're going to attach the wiring loom yet? You won't want to sully that orange frame with OE cable ties. If you're thinking of using those inner frame clips I mentioned a while back, now would be the time to add the necessary spigots before the frame goes to powder.

  • @forthebold

    @forthebold

    Yes it does alter the shape and I think once it's upholstered it'll show it even more. With the cables, yeah I'll be attaching it to the inside of the frame. Also on the areas that won't be visible, there's a lot of tiny cross sections inside the frame too.

    Question: when you cover the seat foam and fibreglass base with the leather/fabric, how do you fasten it to the underside? I am going to be making a seat myself... I can figure out how to make the cover but I'm not sure of the best way to 'wrap' it around the seat and fix it in place. Any suggestions would be welcome :)

  • @forthebold

    This I’ve been told will be glued onto the base with sticky stuff.

    There's an example there but it can be bought directly from the manufacturer for a fraction of the cost than from most online suppliers. Or even Alibaba. Could be worth looking into for yourself if you make a lot of seats. Maybe buy a roll, double/triple it over to match the thickness and compare the differences?

    @@forthebold IMHO with that fearing alone there is putting proper gravitas behind "Monster" that was lacking in stock Ducati in looks department. I wasn't sure what you want to do when you presented the first sketch. Now I see, and I'm hyped to see end result. And move to fiberglas prototype was genius, I think it saved you a lot of problems and time. And for the most thx for inspiration to move my ass nad start to modify my ride and build new one :)
