Happy to see you back at work. You seem to have gained a lot of confidence in your process (as you should). Very cool to see you progress as a builder. I’ll be following this!
I like the fact you can see the lines pretty quickly. It's so bloody important. I tweaked my z650 cafe after countless walk arounds with beer and photoshop mess abouts. You see so many horrendous half built (sometimes full builds) efforts on eBay with such terrible aesthetics. It's fundamental that everything works together. Cafe racers are the sexiest looking machines if done correctly. I got my headlight height wrong before and meant removing the forks and everything and cutting and spraying new shims to go over the upper fork legs (the shims make the fork look better) It was a couple of days work that I'd already done , just to drop the headlamp 30 mm. haha. Can really relate to your channel and that Jish's channel. Good honest builds but helpful and informative at the same time. :-)

Excellent. It’s a shame to see so many abandoned projects. I think a lot of people go in blind to how much money is pumped into them. Hope you’re build is going well
Sounds like a good plan - really look forward to your build here.

Super exciting build mate ! I get how you want to model the foam core for your tank and seat section. Seems pretty straightforward : lay it on top and sculpt away. How do you plan on doing for the fairings though ? Did you come up with a way to hold them in place ? I'm really curious about that.
@forthebold

Straps and wire. Just anything to clamp / hug it to the frame.
What software do you use to get your rough sketch? Starting a cafe racer build and that looks amazing to use.

Will you have a rear wheel number plate or will it fit under the rear cowl. I didn't like them at first but warming to them now as it tidies up the rear end. But if you go for an illegal plate it will fit.
@forthebold
4 жыл бұрын
At the moment I’m leaving that as an afterthought and just getting it show ready so no plate for now.
just found you, and subscribed!!....I always loved the trellis frame from the Monster, (I own a 2006), AND the Honda 750 engines from my youth (I own a 1978), SOOO,... what you think about a marriage of the two???

4 жыл бұрын
@@forthebold I have a 696 and the forks are non adjustable and generally very squishy which isn't great for riding. That's why I'd opt to change them. Which I am eventually. Drop some sr2 or Andreani forks in there and youd be set.
