i usually set it so it starts working about halfway through the travel. up to you really. some people like it to be so they can pull it fully on and have that be about right and not too high, some like it much sooner.

@@eeuwe1098 depends what you want. i wouldn't go any higher than 2,000 for a fast idle, but if you wanted to use it as a manual cruise control you could go a lot higher.

By coincidence I'm just going over my ST4S. Will have to check the TPS. What is the state of the thermostat on that one? I have a split in the steel sealing collar, think that might be a common problem.

i've never heard of a thermostat coming apart for any reason.

@@bradthebikeboy must be the salt on UK roads. I have two that have lost the steel band that holds the two halves together. All are rusty with very little galvanising left.

no, there is no adjustment on an 821, apart from a electronic diagnostic tool procedure.

@@motoshotayev if there is something wrong with it, you need to investigate it. if you can't, take it to someone who can. you need to find out if the ecu thinks something is wrong. if it doesn't, you need to diagnose it by investigation. your questions are not relevant to this video.

Hello.Brad. I like to follow your videos again and again and I want to tell you that they are all great!!! Now I've seen a video that you have an 851 in the workshop. I drive an 851 BJ 89 No332 myself. I have a question about the 851. Throttle Adjustment. Do you have any setting parameters for it? 150 mV when closed is clear to me. But the stangas value is unknown to me. Here in Germany I only find statements that I should start at 300 mV and work my way up to 450 mV. Unfortunately, nothing useful can be found on the net for this Urducati. Also regarding the throttle valve synchronization I needed a tip because the Duc has no bypass screws. Is there a trick? Can you help me? Greetings from Germany and keep it up. Peter

you set the idle stop to whatever it needs to be set to for the bike to idle. you set the throttle sync with the adjustable rod between the throttle blades. for idle sync, you can do it with the idle stop on the vertical cylinder too if you want to. i tend to go by the mixture, not the balance/sync.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is it possible to set the idle speed with the engine running even if the air filter box is removed? For the throttle valve synchronization, I still have mushroom-shaped vacuum gauges that I insert into the throttle valves and synchronize using the adjusting rod. That's how I do it with the old Alfa Romeos. Thank you again and have a nice Sunday. LG Peter

@@trevor1200 it's from the mathesis kit. it might be 887651126H, i'll try to remember to have a look at work. i'd be surprised if you could get it but you never know
