Why do you hate Dubai so much?
The look on Eli's face when she was asked to leave her own country representation in the world fair. Disappointment. I think you are an asset to your country and a truly amizing presenter of your experiences.
When I first passed through Dubai in the early 2000s transiting to a different country.. I had similar feelings as you did.. like it was this weird desert place and I couldn´t connect to it at all. Was happy when the time came to leave again. Then I visited again, to come see a friend of mine who had moved there for a new job. And that second time around it was a totally different experience. Met some wonderful people and without planning for it I ended up staying. Now it´s 2023 and I have been living in the UAE for almost 2 decades and I love it and would not trade it for any other place. PS: there is beautiful nature, mountains, wadis, desert, sea.. you just need to go out of the city
Im watching from Canada. Ive been there for 3 years from 2012 to 2015 as a foreign worker. I have nothing but praise for that beautiful country.
Your videos are simply amazing! Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to discover this world!
Always love your perspectives thank you!

That was fun and informative to watch Eli. Thanks for posting and good luck on your next adventure.
Loved your video and especially your comment about 'detours you did not mean to take' are the ones that seem to make the best memories. Unsure if you have ever visited New Zealand before, but I have made it my home and really enjoy it and thought you should put it on your to-do list. Wishing you all the very best...safe travels.

Very well said and it sums it up perfectly: sometimes the scenic roads are the detours you never planned to make. Thanks for your videos. Traveling opens the minds. We all need to learn from each other’s cultures with an open mind. Please keep up with these videos.
Eli I love your insight wherever you go. You take us with you. Thank you for sharing your experiences. It never ceases to amaze me how much people around the world have in common.
Its not too bad . My nephew and his wife spent two years working there . They are young . Early thirties . Made good money and came back to South Africa 🇿🇦 to start a family . They traveled to Europe for there and saved a lot . You should put Capetown on your bucket list .❤
Eli that was fascinating and a beautiful video, thank you Xx

Happy Saturday - always looking forward to your uploads. I am also surprised by the Palms area - I also thought it would be a strand of sand, water both sides, with just some houses. So interesting to see the reality - has blown my concept.
Getting a "Las Vegas meets Middle East" vibe here.
You just did the purest documantart of Dubai your so real and not faking this is the only honest report of Dubai I ever watch, but I lived for 3 years in emarates and I am telling you their is a lot more about it, at the end for me work in Dubai is okay but I don't like to live in it as retired or something like this. But your so real about it this is the best ❤
That's some honest review i love it 🙌🏼🔥 ❤️ From Bangladesh 🇧🇩
My father always told me that the gulf-states were fun for week vacation or perhaps honey-moon fairy-tail for the wife, but anything longer then a week is a waste and doesn’t work unless you were born there. Places like Dubai are always said to be a dream, and that’s what it is a dream!

Actually, it's a shithole. But give them credit, immigrants can be deported at the drop of a hat.
The main reason I could never live in UAE is the weather and the heat. Have been following some people travelling to Lebanon and although summers are warm, it's pertty much a Mediterranean climate, with beautiful Spring and Fall and cozy winters. All the best!
Very interesting, as always!
I remember quite a few years ago when I was young. Everything new, exciting and a surprise behind every corner. Enjoy!
Uae is a very nice country, the people over there r sweet and rlly nice. I’d def recommend to go uae for a visit or to live there. MashAllah beautiful and organized country. Everyone is amazing there and I love the security and safety over there honestly amazing 10/10, love uae.

Enjoy the beautiful beaches of Boracay, Siargao, Bohol, el Nido , Coron , etc. scenic and cool places like Tagaytay and Baguio. Rent a condo and Stay at the modern and secure location at BGC area in Manila. Lots of expats and people are friendly and hospitable. Cost of rent is around $500-700 a month at the BGC area. $300-500 a month around makati and Quezon City area. Cost if living is very affordable. Hope to see some of your blogs here.

I have been to Dubai a few times. Unless you are travelling here on a budget pre plan what you what to see. Also there is a hostel out by the airport if you are travelling on a budget. Only about a hundred meters to the metro train system. If you hav an early flight to the airport just walk out of the hostel and flag down a taxi if you have a flight out. Also if you want to experience a bit more culture travel to some of the smaller communities which have some hostels

As someone that’s been to nearly 80 countries you could do WAY better….pick any continent and I’ll at least give you a couple better options Although going from Dubai to Kathmandu is one hell of a wealth disparity shock, funny how much more enjoyable the much poorer country is though (as a traveler at least) Also looking at the breakfast buffet at burj Al arab and other similar places….it’s very obvious how a lot of Russian/Eastern European women of a certain age are there, and it’s quite off putting….many promised a certain life and became stuck in various positions along a spectrum that can be very troubling and off putting

You can't make lemonade unless life gives you some sugar to go with the lemons. Otherwise, all you get is lemon juice. As for the lassi, in Indian restaurants in the USA, it comes in three flavors--sweet regular, salty regular, and mango. (The mango version is always sweet.) In my opinion, the salty lassi tastes the way a wet dog smells.

Incorrect comment about 'everything opens at 4 pm'. It applies to Global village as its totally outdoors and not suitable to roam about during the day when its very hot. There are tons of activities to do during the day which can start as early as you want. If you want outdoor activities, there are beautiful beaches and parks. All malls are open from 10 am till midnight. There are places which open even earlier and open past midnight. There are also lots of places to eat at pocket friendly prices all around UAE and open beyond midnight and all the cuisines from around the globe. And its the most safest city in the world.
Silence is complicity.
Thanks for your videos ❤just some my opinion about the topic.. live with my husband in Dubai for one year and I really like everything. you need to work smart and have a good business in order to have a good life here (with the possibility of spending the summer in another country, etc.).that’s it;)

You two girls are truly fun. Katusha is a beautiful girl. Hope you´ve turned the page on the fake Russian display episode. Your face was a poem! The Yemeni stands caught my attention though the clip was brief. Nuts and fruit make for an extraordinary combination. The artificial feeling you percieved in Dubai is becoming prevalent in many Western cities. Noise, posters masking the sites, abnoxious illumination, zombie-like people and lack of natural harmony. Given your experience, you´ve become a great quasi-neutral observeress. Cheers, Eli!

At the 15:34 mark you actually used a video of Kuala Lumpur - it's a shot of the Mederka 118 tower under construction - I know because I lived right across from it during the pandemic.
I've never been in UAE but I watched a lot of videos. I agree it's very artificial and not suited for life. The only one exception is Masdar City - it's the only well thought out project built for people and not just because they can.
