I do appreciate that the lyrics actually fit with the existential crisis at the heart of the movie: singing about how her heart could be burning/breaking, her world could be falling apart, but no one would know because she's still dancing and looking flawless. And sure, on the one hand she might be saying "partying/dancing helps me escape my troubles" but she might also be saying "partying/dancing helps me hide my troubles so no one knows I'm spiraling."

@@parsing8642it kind of is, some of the songs in the movie’s soundtrack did correlate with the movie itself and Barbie as a character. You just didn’t get that and it’s ok, you don’t have the eye for it.

I don't know why, but the way she sings "When my heart breaks/When my world shakes" immediately breaks me into tears everytime I hear this song.. Probably because no one can sing this as soulfully as she can.
