If there was one thing I missed from DTM, it was these naturally aspirated V8 engines. They just hit the ear right ❤️

The best sounding racecars, that I had experienced live. It is such another level in real life. I like that you add the engine shut down. I always waited for the last M4 before leaving the grandstand only for this amazing bang. But my absolute favourite sound is the slow return to the pits just before PitEntry. As a German I would call it "Gebrabbel" because I have no better word for it :D Thank you so much for this, bozzy! It brings back a lot of amazing and unique memorys. I dont think, I will ever experience this special fascination that emanated from these cars, again. Such a shame, that the DTM even had not survived, after changing to the Class1 4 cylinder cars. I really like GT3 cars, but they dont fit to the uniqueness of DTM. Even if this was the last option, it is a big mistake to act against the SRO instead of cooperating with them in my opinion, especially in this troubled times. But whatever, thanks again for uploading this! Simply amazing how much effort you put in all of your videos. Not just the filming in high quality, but the reviewing of "old" footage to create new content, the researching for your detailed descriptions and so one. Just amazing :) Grazie e continua cosi!

Ich fühle 100% mit dir, wenn ich mir dieses Videos anschaue und weiß, dass ich die nie wieder sehen werde, könnte ich heulen. Hab sie jedes Jahr am Norisring angeschaut, der Sound das Knallen die Optik und alles drum und dran war einfach einzigartig. Leider konnte sich die DTM Marketing technisch nie sooooo gut durchsetzen, ist ja dann am Ende auch ausgestorben vorallem weil die Class One Autos so geisteskrank teuer und kompliziert waren. Weil jeder der diese Autos live erleben durfte war süchtig danach.

Great camera quality. 10/10 for that. Cars sound amazing. :)

Thanks, this is so nostalgic. Have been going from DTM from 2013 till now every single year 2-3 times. These V8's are like a passion to me.

The sound is captured so damn well, and the footage is just so straightforward 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Have a listen to Argentinian STC2000 cars (pre-2019), the Radical-type V8 merges two Hayabusa I4's and sounds pretty extreme, it's like a South American FWD DTM (approximately 430hp).

@@p1mkf109 - nope. NA V8s. They only switched to turbo 4-pots since last year.

Does anyone else think its cool how they look like they freeze in time when they brake to a stop? No body movement at all.

These ones sound so much nicer. The Class One machines don't sound nice at all and just give you a headache (The Aston sounded awful)

I don't know if it's just me, but honestly the ones inside GT500 cars (Super GT) are even nicer than the ones in DTM even though they're using the same regulation.

I wonder...are Nascars louder that the N/A V8 DTMs? These German beasts sound insane, and they could be even louder with a merged, single exhaust.

Yes. More displacement, compression, and RPM, and NASCAR also had a single exit until this year, with the 7th gen. switching to duals. It should be noted that a completely unrestricted NASCAR Cup engine is capable of pushing nearly 1,000 horsepower and 10,000 rpm, with zero sound muffling.

@@griffinfaulkner3514honestly, im not too sure. No noticable difference. I‘ve heard an endless amount of racing cars, muffled, unmuffled, old, new, but the DTM V8‘s were honestly the loudest. They made your ears ring if you didn‘t protect them (which i didn‘t). They used completely straight sidepipe exhaust, so you can‘t get it more unmuffled. Straight out from the engine, a few inches

DTM is like NASCAR. I never really realized that the cars looked like road cars

Most of them sound like mosquitoes. Current DTM have zero resemblance to old DTMs GT4 and GT3 are closer to production cars

Alfa ruled DTM. At its pinnacle DTM had as much technology, R&D and costs to rival F1.

Does not sound like supercars to me. They sound weird.

DTM switched to straight-4 turbos last year. The video features 2018-spec cars, all with V8s.

@@soundofeighthooves if you like the sound of these, than I would imagine you drive a Prius. ICE engines vehicle are going to go out with a Wimper if they keep getting worse sounding. Compare the new AMG GTR Black Series vs. Any of the other GTRs... It may have set the new production car lap record on the Ring, but it’s sounds like it nuts were cut off 🙄!
