Great vid as always Josh! I also carry a master link chain breaker, and a couple of pairs of the those food safe rubber gloves so if I have to work on the bike on the side of the road and get all greasy, I don't have to put those greasy hands back into my riding gloves. They are cheap and light weight.

You always have such a clean looking bike. Should make a video on your bike washing routine, do you just use regular soap and water, or do you use a certain cleaning product, stuff like that. Loved all the videos mate, good stuff.

Always a great video - watching what others put in their tool rolls. But what really interests me is seeing what their risk attitude is. For example, those who don't carry a spare spark plug "because plugs stopped failing in the 1970s..." or "you are taking the wet plug out anyway, so dry it with a lighter instead of carrying the extra weight of a spare plug" versus the guy who carries one anyway because "it might help someone else out". There's the guy who carries a 3/8" drive bar plus a lumpy 30mm socket "because we all know the gearbox sprocket on the DRZ likes to come loose". Well, perhaps after many thousands of miles. Possibly. What about the guy who now carries a 22mm socket (and 3/8" drive bar again) "just in case you need to remove the swing arm". This was after his mate's chain snapped on a previous outing, wrapping itself solidly around the swingarm pivot, the only way to remove it being to take off the swing arm. Luckily a passing biker had the size needed.... So now he carries another "just in case" tool. BUT it was his mate's bike, not his, to whom this happened. Who knows how well or poorly his mate maintained his chain. So if we took all the risk averse advice from KZread we would need a tour truck following us around with all the spares that "you never know" might be needed if, or when, it seems, we get "into a pinch" based on what has gone wrong to ourselves AND to other riders. And some are carrying tools that don't fit fasteners on their own bike "in case I happen upon someone else on the trail who needs that tool"... Good grief! The advice here from Josh to go round the bike finding what sizes fit your bike is sound I reckon. I have found some trickery can help too - the Brembo brake bleed screws on my bike are 11mm. The only thing on the bike that is that size. Do I carry that unique size spanner everywhere? Or do I leave it at home because the chance of needing to bleed the brakes while on the trail is teeny tiny? Instead, I have replaced both front and rear with titanium versions - not to save weight but they are only 10mm in size. Now I no longer have to carry that 11mm wrench. Just a teeny bottle of brake fluid. Happy days.

5/16 is a tight 8mm, the flattened tube from the drz tool kit is an extension for the axle spanners to get more leverage and keep them short. a couple of things i have that are handy is a warp 9 valve stem puller it has a valve stem removal tool, a spare valve and it's purpose is to pull the valve stem on the tube through the hole which speeds up a tyre change a lot. the other thing i won't go without is a magnet i got one of those flexible magnets and cut the handle off so it packs better. i find i'm always dropping tank bolts etc down onto the motor the magnet saves a bunch off time and hassle.

Yea I think I have the 5/16 because my 8mm was slightly stripped out and wouldn’t work anymore. A few good ones there mate. I definitely should look into a valve stem tool. That’s always the biggest pain when changing tubes. Thanks 👍🏼

Yea that would be handy for sure!

A good kit. Pretty much the same as mine. I store a folded front tube between the Speedo and the front wind shield/headlight surround.

I changed a few bolts . I only need a 10mm socket to remove the seat, side covers , battery holder bracket and box.

Tools on the front guard makes for horrible steering. Add cheap tarp to your kit, one of those light $2 shop blue tarps, imine has been used many times to change a tyre in the sand or when faced with cooking off the ground. Just keeps the dirt out from where it should not be or helps keep your bolts and things in check while working. See someone else mentioned a selection of spare bolts M6 etc. Oil depends on your bike and how far you go. My 500 uses a bit now, so just take 250ml to give it a top up. The other way is it needs 1200ml for a change, so 250ml allows me to buy 1 litre to enable a change. Like you say, horses for courses there.

I do have a tarp. I haven’t taken it on the last few adventures though. Definitely good to have for changing a tyre on the tracks. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

Use an old sock[s] with the foot cut off to protect the tubes. Helps stopping wear [rubbing] against them when stored in your bag.

It’s a motoz dual venture front and a motoz rallz on the rear. Motorcycle tyre warehouse reached out along with motoz to support my next adventure so that’s the main reason. But I have used the tyres in the past and they have been good. See how they go on this adventure.

You woudlnt happen to have a link for that tire lever set would you? Really like that it has the axle nut wrench with the multiple sizes!

You've got a lot of heavy weight tools. Look into asahi tools. I bought most what I need through them. Lite weight.

is that the acerbis front fender bag or the acerbis rear fender bag used on the front ? Ive been looking on line but the front fender bag looks smaller then this

I’m a psychopath for cleaning 😂 I might have to do a video on it someday. Usually goes - - spray foam and pressure clean - hand wash - degreaser/wheel cleaner - dry the bike - tyre shine fixes everything 😂 Anytime I have the bike apart I clean all those hard to get to spots as well
