I was trying to dry it out, led to taking the reso head off and more dampening than usual. The drum part is 90% on this floor tom. I’m still processing it as well. The envelope in the mix also tightens the length of the resonance, and then I used reverb to make it sound wider/bigger. There’s also a subtle chugging power chord guitar you can barely hear that is playing a lot of the same beats. The drum is also tuned to the root note of the key.
