I would love to see South American Pre WW I designs which led to South American naval arms race circa 1910. Reference: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rivadavia-class_battleship. As an SA WoT player and into WoWs I'd like to see more love with local navies (thx for the 9 de Julio btw). Some were very powerful for their time and had unique designs like these Dreadnoughts. Also looking into having one of our WoT CCs get into WoWs as well. Who do we have to talk to about this? kzread.info. Thank you in advance.

It would be, except that Thunderer and Conqueror are two of the fake or fictional ships in game that have no design basis in history. They are ships designed in the 21st Century by WG.

@@majormidget2704 Not neccesarily, the video did mention that the L2 plans were revisited prior to WWII in conjunction with the design process of the Lion class. Just because you can't find something on wikipedia doesn't neccesarily mean it doesn't exist. You'd be better off talking about Roon, Hindenburg and GK if we're talking pure fantasy.

@@Arthion That is WG covering their tracks. I am a bit more than a wiki surfer, I can't say for sure what is in the archives, but I would trust authors and historians who did visit them. Alan Raven, David Brown and Norman Friedman etc. - They make no mention of such an 18" design, presumably because 16" were the priority from the last 3 KGV's and Lion, and that none of the 18"/45 Mk. II that the 1920/1921 designs L2 and N3 would have been armed with existed in steel. I have been cataloguing the fantasy ships in game, we have seen quite a few recent additions. I have an excel doc listing all paper ships in game that I created from my gleaning of sources, if you would be interested.

@@majormidget2704 Well I meant more that rather than a full on line drawing and design specs there might have been some document inquiring about the feasibility of arming a Lion hull with the L2 guns or some other form of passing mention rather than just it being something they came up with on their own.

And she also has access to the most powerfull high explosive shells in the game. Because a 63% fire chance per shell is a fun and engaging gameplay mechanic.

@@Arthion lets be real with ourselfs here. The large majority play the RN BB's like nothing more then long range HE spammers. Almost everyone just loads the HE because its way easier and you dont have to think about it. Most players waste the potential of all RN BB's

I really like how there is narration now about the history fo the ship and some of the information you discovered during the modeling process. I wish there was a Little White Mouse reference! Good stuff Wargaming! Keep it up!

Wow, I love the narration!:) So interesting to hear the story behind these ships; those that were not built eventually are even more interesting for me.

Nice job indeed! My one caveat is description of the main & secondary batteries in metric. They were 16” guns and 5.25” dual-purpose guns, thank you very much. The latter probably would have had stand-alone radars like the (scrapped! 1960😢) HMS Vanguard...

Yep I love the Thunderer. Now if we could get a RN BB named Heracles

I would not believe anything Wargaming deems “historically accurate”.

Plus almost all tier IX-X battleships in game were just paper ships anyways. Well except for Yamato, mushashi, Iowa, and Jean Bart. Rest were all just ideas on paper.

@@stevenmoore4612 Some were partially built such as the Sovetsky Soyuz and the Montana classes but were never finished due various reasons and ended up being scrapped. The Sovetskaja Ukraina of the Soyuz class was actually quite far along in production being built all the way up to the main deck. It was captured by the Germans who stripped it of many of it artillery pieces. They tried building it later but when Germany started retreating they just scuttled it. Montana never made it that far as it was scrapped around after the battle of Midway.

@@yesman2948 Actually from what I’ve found none of the Montana class were never laid down and were only ideas on paper. As for the Sovetsky Soyuz class three were laid down with the lead ship Soyuz being the most complete at about 20% in mid 1941 and only about 15,000 tons of steel were laid down for the Soyuz before the war began with the Germans. The Sovetskaja Ukraina was actually only 17% complete so not even close to being built up the decks like you said but only about a quarter of the lower hull was ever constructed for the Ukraina. And really the main reason they didn’t progress much beyond that was because of faulty materials like rivets and steel plating that were found to be of inferior quality. Anyway that’s just what I found from doing research.

It comes out mid September 2019?!?! Can't wait!!! Oh...... It's November you say?? Ah, timely.....

Not really during this meta of the game it’s unlikely to see these ships come for now

I had a Thunderer analog. My Conqueror with 18inch guns that I had for only half a dozen battles before you took it off me. And why? To try and sell it again. All that grinding for nothing >_< I'm not going to forget this WG.

Thunderer kinda reminds me of Bismarck because of the Turrets

Conqueror used to be exactly like Thunderer, with only 457mm Guns. But then they removed the 457mm Guns from Conqueror and added 12 419mm Guns...

@@theshermantanker7043 Conqueror never had Thunderer's accuracy, reload and turret traverse. 457 mm Conqueror was quite different.

Are we getting new sound effects or gunsounds anytime soon?

The one thing I noticed was her secondary guns. There is not many of those guns. If I am wrong the say I am but I don't have it it's something I noticed.

Unlikely due to the name being associated with the CV, but Constellation or Constitution would be good replacements since they were among the names of the ones that just got cancelled and scrapped rather than converted. Although I'd imagine they'd need a ton of hypothetical modernization to fit in the game. Their protection is quite awful even for a battlecruiser of that period and they'd probably end up at minumum of T7 given their 16"/50 guns which would give them a hell of a lot of firepower.

so its a mark 1 gun yet has all the accuracy but a mark 7 50 cal 16 in gun gets 1.8 dispersion

By the way, why Ohio's MK A change to MK1？

@ - Tier 3 is as far as I know an invention. Tier 5 is a paper project based on the Kongo design by one of the shipyards in St Petersburg. Tier 6 is a Borodino class battlecruiser designed prior to the revolution and actually laid down. Tier 7 is a Putilov design for a 12 x 16" gunned battleship designed in Tsarist times as a follow on to the Borodino's but with the Q turret removed, though most designs followed the Gangut/Borodino layout for turrets all at deck level. Tier 8 is the Ansaldo UP-41 design supplied to the Russians when bidding to supply them with the large battleship they wanted. Tier 9 is the Sovetsky Soyuz, actually laid down in WWII and hulls were captured by the Germans in Barbarossa, and photographed at Nikolaiev yards iirc. Tier 10. I think it is a post war paper project for completing the Sovetsky Soyuz mostly to make the US worry about them, they also leaked designs with domes in place of turrets, claiming they were completed as missile battleships. They only admitted this was a masive hoax after about 20 years, though it was fairly obvious from the mid-1950s.

The project began in 2018 to 2019 by LittleWhiteMouse and was stolen without reference. The ship was originally a work of satire, but we at WG decided to make it a reality and here it is.

This episode was a great delight and, as always, very informative. I know the trolls would say "anyone can get this info if they search for it". I say, 1- I work full time with a decent amount of overtime and "On-Call" periodically So I do not have a lot of extra time which makes these presentations and videos even more enticing for me, personally. 2- I love any type of Military History, I am definatly a Military History Enthusiast, so these videos especially resonate with me, also the "Naval Legends, Full Ahead, Dry Docks" ETC: 3- Almost or actually all content that World of Warships makes, at least what I've seen, is generally informative, well researched, presented well and has Great Quality to it. 4- If you check out War Gaming's other platforms, World of Planes= No info, World of Tanks=Micheal Lovin? Eh Um Ah uh.... No, just NO and I don't hear about anything else that pertains to WGing. 5- So I say... Carry On World of Warships and I give you and all your hard working Co-Workers, designers, editors :ETC A Huge Thumbs UP !!! Also I would love to see and hear about the USS Pittsburgh who had her bow tore off during a Cyclone in the Pacific War. I had an Uncle who was stationed aboard her during his WWII Service and had briefly told me about it some years back. But like I didn't get any details when I was younger and like so many others, failed to question him before he passed away 12 years ago. But he did mention it and it would be an interesting segment, I think?

You see I play the game fo the “Historical” aspect of it, and I just don’t find it worthwhile to grind to most of the tier 9 and 10 ships in the game, since most were just ideas on paper like this one. I like playing ships that were actually “Real” fought it real life battle, and served in real navies.

Thunderer is literally just conqueror, except taking away the option to equip 457mm guns, throwing them on a ship looking exactly the same, slapping a price tag on it and calling it a premium.

The version of a historical (albeit modernized) post-WW1 project that got robbed of the more signature armament to make a premium. And leaving the tech tree version into a much hated HE spammer, a shame of a BB.

both ships are HE spammers. thunderer has lots of drag on her shells so her penetration at range is lower compared to other t10's

@@bladeclanhalo3 How are you jumping to that conclusion? Thunderer has roughly 725mm of penetration at 5km, 575mm at 10km, 450mm at 15km and 400mm at 20km. This is all but identical to Yamato and stands just behind the American and Soviet 457mm guns. Thunderer's AP performance is excellent.

Ah yes, Thunderer. The clone of the already fictional/fake Conqueror. Also known as what Conqueror should be balanced as too. The only thing Conq/Thunderer shares with L2 is the guns (not even the turrets), everything else is WG created, by themselves, and not from the archives.

@@frostedcat Personally I would have had one of the 1945 Lion proposals as a T10 for the RN BB line, with L3 and K3 being T10s of alternative RN BB and BC lines respectively. WG like to do make their own stuff up far too often when it isn't necessary tbh.

@@alexandarvoncarsteinzarovi3723 its actually top of the tier ten battleships It’s really good in combat. It even scares destroyers because it can sink them in one shot! They tend to stay away. Other battleships and cruisers die easily. The play style is similar to North Carolina which is why it makes her dangerous. Don’t judge a ship by its appearance, judge it by how well it fights
