Theory i'm going with is: it was scrapped because it wasn't meant to be Britains last battleship

My Father joined the RN in 1947. Her was on the Vanguard from 1949 t0 1951. Proud as punch, beautiful Ship. Shame they scrapped it, would have made a great museum ship, alongside HMS Belfast on the Thames :o)

typical british: good mobility, decent protection, fast hitter. churchill tank, FV4005, Black Prince, Mosquito, Wyvern, Lancaster, Revenge class and Queen Elizabeth class is an exception

the Queen Elizabeth class were among the fastest battleships in existence when they were build. 24-25 knots is no joke for a ship commissioned in 1914

That’s pretty cool, I just happened to get this ship from a crate about two weeks ago lol

Vanguard needs a superheal....

This ship was made to contend with modern battleships like the iowa and some Japanese battleships. I feel like this should be a tier ix ship because although her main batterys limited her firepower it was built on decades of British naval experience and was equipped with possibly the best radar and fire control system ever mounted on a battleship. In game she could have decent armor and mobility with slightly shorter range and weaker guns then other tier nines however theyll be fast firing and devastatingly accurate while aslo having excellent detection capabilities.

Oh yeah AA defence is good when it hasn't been stripped away by HE spam, which is 90% of the time lol

If we take the sales pitch out of the way, in game Vanguard is the tier 8 version of Hood, with improvements in almost all aspects, except that is slower and easier to citadel than Hood (even by tier 7s).

I don't know, but what I do know is that Vanguard is the tier 7 (top tier of the tech tree) of the british BB line and that the Monarch is a premium tier 7

Aye, penetration and AA DPS buffs would be nice.

She’s truly a special ship. She was the last battleship to be completed and her appearance was quite beautiful! The British really should’ve preserved her. In game though she should be the tech line tier 8 battleship. She was the successor of the KGV class. Plus there are already a lot of premium British battleships in the game already.

Its armor and guns are vary weak. It dont have the firepower to fight the tir tens it get punched right through the nose by most ships its like a slava just without the range and accercy

Totally agree AA is average at best, maybe WG brain washed themselves again, I like playing her but it's a ship of attrition, in co ops you're lucky to get 30-40 main battery hits and in randoms team mates are dead before you get anywhere near 100k damage inflicted.

This ship was the perfect opportunity to make a British brawler. Vanguard had superfast autoloading secondaries with a third of the reload time of what the (basically same) guns on KGV had. But WG being WG gave it the wrong guns, a ridiculous reload+dispersion and - Here! - buy it guys! I don´t get these devs...

A handicapped T8 BB, essentially an Uber Hood, but in need of a slight buff, I like Vanguard but it's AA is NOT as good as lauded, especially when bottom tier (A LOT), compared to the US BB's and Bismarck etc, Vanguards AA is average at best, The ship has very few consumables, and needs either DEF AA, SPOTTER or FIGHTER, it's one of the most expensive T8's you can buy, and just doesn't have enough going for it when you can get better for free or cheaper (Bismarck, North Carolina, Tirpitz, Odin, Vlad, Massa, etc,etc,etc).

In fact could WG please do an AA comparison with Vanguard and all the other T8’s and tell us where the Vanguard stands in the list If WG wants a proper idea of effective BB AA look at the Jean Bart 😉.

Vanguard and Thunderer should've been swapped in Tier and effectiveness.

German subtitles are partially nonsense. Instead of "zurecht" it should be "zu Recht" for example. And the correct word is "Schiffbau", not "Schiffsbau". This is also globally wrong in the German localisation. PS: Schiff-S-bau is some dialect from the alps, thus far away from the sea.

Nothing much special about it .. HE damage is okay but the gun accuracy is poor. Only good thing about it is the rudder shift.

This like the overwatch deal. Your good at making movies! just not games.

The truth....she is disrespected by wargaming. Her accuracy is terrible even though she had excellent rangefinding equipment. Not surpassed until the Iowas were upgraded to the mk 160 in the 1980's. Her secondaries are like a 12 gauge shotgun and doesn't have radar or defensive AA. Gets clapped in teir 10 matches.

You can bet if Vanguard had been Russian the in game bote would be far different, Van needs buffs will it get any, no.

Please, and I say please, Fix the Italian battleship to be a bit better. You can't use the SAP as an excuse. They suck. IRL they would be great but you artificially changed some values like the range and the AA range to be sucky. I'll repeat my self. Please, they are still in development so try to make them stronger.
