Dry Camping At Echo Lake Campground

Spent the weekend dry camping at Echo Lake Campground.
Amazing area with breathtaking views.
Saturday we tried some new fishing gear at the lake then hiked up to the top of the mountain to take in the beauty.
Spent mid day trying out a new camp fire recipe and making grilled avocado sandwiches then fished some more in Echo Lake.
It was cold, the morning temperatures were mid 30s with the highs only making it to 60.

Thanks buddy. I fished with that in Arkansas on the Little Red and did good. I don't know why I have not thought of that.

When people at work ask me how I’m doing I always say, livin the dream with sarcasm, you and her are truly livin the dream, one question though, is your casting arm worn out lol

Thanks for the comment bud. The dream.....The dream would be doing this full time and not having to pack up and get back to work on Mondays, then my casting arm would surely be worn out.

Unfortunately, you’re gonna have a hard time finding a quiet campground. Most people go there and bring their kids and party and ignorance is ignorance. It doesn’t change just because you go to a campground….. when we go to campgrounds we scout them out and try to find the spots that are away from everybody else. It’s hard to do without actually being there but it’s doable a lot of times if you KZread the campground you’re going to visit people do drive-throughs and you can try to scout spots out. The other piece of advice is that you’re looking for that true nature and quiet , just go over landing most states allow you to go to State Forest and camp anywhere you want except here in the great state of PA, where they took that away from us last year, and now they charge you $10 and you have to camp in one of their designated spots. It’s a real killer because I had very nice spots picked out that I used to go to every year and I’m no longer allowed. You still can do that in all national state forest you basically just drive out and find yourself a spot. They usually have a limit on how long you can stay but I’ve never had a problem with that and once again, you’ll find what you’re looking for and it’s free. I think I seen a generator in your video with that generator and a couple propane tanks, you should be able to use everything in your camper for a week or more. I have the 550 model and that’s what I do. I have my generator mounted to a rack upfront where I also carry extra propane and fuel and even though it’s a pop-up like yours it’s warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Best of luck to you. God bless.

Thanks for the great comment. I agree, I cannot expect anyone to change so I will have to change the way I am doing things to meet my own needs. We have started branching out into disperse camping is some spots with the Jeep tent. We plan to do a few more this coming season. One issue with National Forest camping here is the UTV, ATV population where, not the majority, but some of them have no respect for anything. Thanks again, JF

I feel you I take my truck everywhere with the camper on top. I have a ram 2500 power wagon or beefed up the suspension a little bit. to allow for the weight but it will take me anywhere I need to go. I was trying to find a way to add pics on here of it for you, but it’s been unsuccessful sooner or later I’m gonna start posting some videos myself, another person you might be able to relate to is Kenny of all trades, he seems like we both like outdoors peace and quiet lol you be blessed my brother maybe I’ll see you on the trail one day
