Meandherafterkids

Meandherafterkids

We are empty nesters over 50 and living our life. We married young and devoted our younger years raising our three daughters. Now it's our turn to live the rest of our lives for us, refusing to grow old sitting on the porch... So we go. We go everywhere and do everything we can think of while our bodies are still able to. We will go and do, until we can't.
We want to show you, all because your kids are grown and gone, you do not have be a stay at home grandparent, growing old, wishing you should have or could have done this or that.
Come jump in and join our journey as we go, growing old together in the great outdoors.

    Okay okay okay I may be easy to please but I’m cackling! 1. When you commented on mom’s sweater, “that’s a nice sweater! Wish I woulda brought one..” 2. The trying to relax until it warms up and the dang dog barking!! 3. The lyrics to the song when you go on the bike ride says, “winter coat left in the closet” and you mentioned a coat 6 times. 4. The needed a coat then cut to a sleeveless shirt! Cackling.

    I have a Nissan titan xd 2018 with a palomino 690 HD with a 14 enclosed trailer v-nose and I got my tie down system from e-trailer they had for the titan and I put on air bags for stability it works perfectly

    @@meandherafterkids there’s a guy that has a channel called outdoors in Oregon. He goes over those actuators. He also found a site that sells just the motor for $30. It’s a very easy install. I would paste the link up myself, but I’m not sure how to do that but if you check out his channel, he has the links to the site up there and he’s very knowledgeable man I’m ordering one for the right and one for the left side just to keep as back up.

You can watch the video kzread.info/dash/bejne/omuj2Mlqm6TRpqQ.html where I put this camper on a Titan XD with a payload of 2360 pounds. The campers wet weight is 2500 pounds so I had to put airbags on the Titan and you can watch that here kzread.info/dash/bejne/f5WOmq6ziKvbeMo.html. Palomino does make a smaller camper that fit a 1/2 ton like the SS-1200 & B-780H. You can look on their website www.palominorv.com to see all the specs on the different models. the lower Colorado basin -- the cradle of human life in ancient America. No place more beautiful on Earth than these 4 corners. I can relate to the outrageously long list. Thankful to have a lovely Sandia camping trip in my backyard for when I suddenly want to be in the forest :) And to what you said. Your life shouldn't revolve around the few extra days you get off work, anyway. I haven't seen my sister since my brother died, we never all have time off. We live in a hell, and like you said we are just letting it happen. For no reason. Going to NE new Mexico was a good choice, not nearly as busy. Lots of stuff here too. A lot of those smaller doors are likely smaller because they were rooms for storage, usually the doors are smaller so they can put a slab over it to protect the food. Sometimes, they would even mortar it into the wall.

    @@meandherafterkidsJust as you, I love this land -- and they did too. They left us messages, and lived their lives here. It is fascinating. The ancestral pueblo in particular. They were doing a surprising amount of art and science, despite usually pretty radical circumstances. Not to mention, I know you've done enough hiking here to be confused as to how they did it... Barefoot, with no clothes, nothing to hold water in, etc. I am still looking forward to when you get a chance to stop by angel peak ! Came pretty close, but it is a good 2-3 hours I think to get down there from Farmington. I will say, there are some huge advantages. Free camping, and Bisti badlands is right next to it. I think you said you're from Denver, so it might be worth going East after. I will say that the drive through Jemez Springs going North to Los alamos is pretty amazing. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it that drive is ridiculously amazing. Tons of places to stop, bandolier national monument is right off the road. Grande valle is incredible, as is jemez Springs. And for most new Mexico things you don't need a permit ! I think the big exception that comes to mind is Carlsbad. That's why I live here ! Least restrictive on nature. Including bandolier, it is something like 10-15 dollar entry and no reservation required.

    Great video you guys. Good call on getting out of there before the rain. Why not the truck camper this time? Tracie said she loved the coffee mug. Beautiful country out that way. Can't wait for the next one You guys be safe!!

    Thanks for the comment. I, not her, decided against taking it because I did not want to pack it back up or drop it, to go drive around and site see. Plus being here a few years ago, I didn't want to be top heavy coming down the steep dirt road to the bottom of the basin. Thanks again. JF

    Thanks for the review, we now have an identical model !! I was wondering about how your steps were mounted. I’ve ordered a set of the TorkLift steps and noticed there’s little room below the door. Did you or the dealer use lag bolts screwed directly through the black weather stripping into the poly plastic sub flooring ???

  • @meandherafterkids
    @meandherafterkids2 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the comment. The steps are pinned to a bracket bolted on right right below the door. These are the ones I have www.etrailer.com/RV-Steps/TorkLift/TLA7804.html The dealer had them on when I got it. It's funny how they were an option. Best of luck and if you find your way up here to Colorado, let me know. JF

    Thanks for the comment. It gets warm for sure. Last September we were at our ranch dove hunting and it was 105. After living up here for a while, that hurt me. It gets harder to come back every time we go back.
