I usually avoid cop dramas but I thought this series was exceptional. A bit like a more sophisticated update of Z Cars.

I love this show but I believe the writers made a fatal error in episode 5. They killed off Gerry, in my opinion the best character in the show. They should have killed off Constable Ellis instead, as she is far less loveable and a lot more annoying.

It’s not so much they were actively attacking them in so much as they got in the way of the guy they were actually trying to get to. They were quite respectful of the situation until the guy escalated it

Next they comment that "Northern Ireland looks bonkers!" I'm assuming that this statement was made in the context of their previous sentence and thus they are basing their view of Northern Ireland on this ridiculous fictional drama. In short, they seem to find the show to be compelling and to give it credit as a realistic depiction of Northern Ireland. I do not!

In the past before reunification Northern Ireland was a very violent place (I'm assuming this is what is meant by "bonkers")) This was during the time that the IRA (Irish Republican Army )was at war with the British and the Protestants of Norther Ireland. Today things are better. "Over the three years 2011-14, the homicide rate in Northern Ireland was 0.9 per 100,000 inhabitants per year.
