@@WyrdSimi So at the time I was working at a federal site where tons of crazy stuff happened all the time. Long story short there was this female driver that caused everybody trouble. It literally took her twenty minutes, I timed it, for her to back a rig up like 15 feet. She'd put it in reverse, then forward, then reverse, then forward, etc, etc, etc, for twenty minutes, almost hitting me, other drivers, other trucks, and so on. When she finally left to go to the office, I looked into her truck, again absentmindedly, and she apparently had her kid with her (against the law and regs) and the kid was SERIOUSLY strung out on something and the mom just left him them there for a while. He kinda looked like he OD'd.

9:12 hi, former trucker. There are 3 main types of auxiliary brakes for trucks. The most common (in the US) is the Engine Brake or Jake Brake, the Jake works by opening the exhaust valve at the end of the compression stroke letting the high pressure air escape before it can push the piston back down. The second most common (in the US) is the exhaust brake. The exhaust brake is a flap after the turbo but before the muffler that nearly completely blocks your exhaust so the engine has to force its own exhaust out. The third kind and most common pretty much everywhere else in the world is the retarder. The retarded is a beefed up torque converter attached to your transmission. Not sure exactly how they work but i believe there is a valve the driver can control while driving that controls how much transmission fluid is allowed through this converter. Shut the valve and the converter turns the trucks momentum into heat (i think the input it attached to the output of the transmission and the output of the converter is basically held in place? not too sure) Also watching grizzy struggle with the long load is great fun.

OTR here for a year, and yeah, this vid hit the spot. Ignoring the trash maneuvering, not that I am gods gift to trucking, far from it. So much of this is a truckers mentality, the frustration at 4 wheelers, other truckers, and being dis-courteous towards each other. You see it every day even the I am more important than you mentality. That all said, plenty of truckers do show good manners and help each other and some 4 wheelers help us truckers out in major traffic areas like Los Angeles.
