    The main thing the doctors decide for according to laws in this is to uphold life as long as they can and take the most injured person. If the mother was more injured then the child the mother would go otherwise they hade done a severe fault. If they would take a decision to take the child anyway I can't say.

    northern_lights it’s clear you’re not a mother. a mom could have her head dangling from her shoulder, whereas her child could have a scratch, but the mom would want their child taken care of first. it’s not emotion, it’s human nature.

So if the child was not injured that much and what happened if the mother had broke her neck and need immediate surgery and the kid don’t. So your gonna send your child to go first while you die. You both could live if you use your dumbass common sense.

    Definitely is hard to highlight all the kind officers since the bad ones are the only ones getting the attention. Makes it very difficult to not generalize the entire force. • @one4sorrow

    @one4sorrow

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@ElusiveTy Ah the good old "move on/get over it". The common catch-cry of British imperialists, monarchists, and some non-Aboriginal Australians, one that flies in the face of our other famous war slogan “Lest We Forget”. It is a catch-cry so filled with crap that we rarely stop to unpack it, but it has always made me curious about just what people who say it think so many Indigenous people are angry about. Do they think that all of this is about the refusal to get over the fact that Captain Cook landed here over 200 years ago, rather than everything that has happened since? Pemulwuy was killed over 200 years ago, but today his head still sits, unnamed, on a shelf in England somewhere. The Myall Creek massacre, was in 1838, 182 years ago. Jandamarra was killed 123 years ago, but most people living in Australia still don’t even know his name. The Australian national ethos can proudly embrace historical criminals like Ned Kelly who opposed government, but feels threatened by the acknowledgement of Aboriginal resistance fighters. The last formally recognised massacres of Aboriginal people, the Conistan massacres, was 92 years ago. There were plenty of massacres in between too. Australia has such a poor record of acknowledging these that you probably don’t know where the closest massacre site (assuming you're Australian) is to where you sit while reading this, but it is a relatively safe bet that it isn’t too far away. Aboriginal people were only given the right to vote in the 1960s. Five decades ago. Lang Hancock called for the sterilisation of “half castes” in 1984, 36 years ago. John Pat was killed by police in 1983, 33 years ago. Mulrunji Doomadgee was killed by a police officer in 2004, 16 years ago. Ms Dhu died in police custody in 2014. I could name so many others dead in police custody ad infinitum .... Remote Aboriginal communities in Western Australia are facing forced dispossession of their land right now. Assimilation policies, intergenerational trauma and discrimination and forced child removals have all contributed to the over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in care, as has a lack of understanding of the cultural differences in child-rearing practices and family structure. Police officers who kill Aboriginal people will not be held to account. Governments who fail to meet their own Closing the Gap targets due to their preference of implementing racist, paternalistic and punitive policies will not be held to account. Gross breaches of human rights will be ignored and swept under the rug. We live off the crumbs that fall off non-Aboriginal tables and are told to be grateful. We ask for land rights with tongue in cheek knowing full well that the land belonged to us in the first instance. So tell me, do you really think that we are upset over what happened 200 years ago, or what started 200 years ago? It is impossible to “get over” a colonial past that is still being implemented today. It is impossible to come to terms with a national history that the nation refuses to acknowledge ever happened. We cannot reconcile what happened yesterday when we are too busy bracing ourselves for what will inevitably come tomorrow. This is the legacy of the former British empire.

    "Made more bearable by this British Flying Doctor" Oh just ignore all the work that the AUSTRALIAN paramedics and flight crew do. This show makes it appear as if we have to rely on UK medical personnel which just isn't true. Sure they can mention the British Doctor but how about a shout out to all the Australian medical staff? It's not like his job is unique to British people. There are far more Australian Flying Doctors here than British ones. Talk about grinding my gears....

    That's a great example of why you should to buy car seats for your children. The seats r the ones that reduced the impact of the car accident on the children which leave them having minor injures even though they might hurt in a few places here n there. (In my country parents allow their children to stand like nobody's business jumping up n down n go front n back of the car. I seriously don't know where their fear conscious gone to. I mean as parents naturally u will feel afraid for ur children as children don't know what is fear as they r still young yet parents do nth to teach them.)

    The concept of the show, as an Aussie myself, is so strange. It's like they went 'we want something exotic [another country]- but not really [another former Engish colony], but no exotic would be good - actually no [making the show about Brits instead.]' I mean, I totally get the appeal of having a joint production like this, but it just makes it feel like it's trying too hard - or a network here couldn't fun an emergency show they wanted to make and somebody with connections to producers in England had an idea at the end of a meeting.

    @@BaileyMarie111 A helicopter ride is NOT 100K, it is about 5K. There is no such thing as FREE medical care, these folks pay for this by having about 4x the amount of taxes taken out of their salary then we do!!! We also have many more hospitals, and most if not all can handle minor trauma, thus there is no reason to fly someone unless they are severely injured and require a level I trauma center.

    well in my state, we have helicopter rides, because my city has the best hospital in my state, and so if a smaller hospital doesnt have the care the patient needs, they get flown here, either for a specialist, or some other stuff.

    @@bettysmith4527 actually we pay precisely 2% of our total income each year for our universal healthcare system, MUCH cheaper than your health insurance premiums. Primary reason for using flight services is often the sheer distances between major hospitals which are located mostly in our capital cities....

    What? 64 and hopes to return to work? I hope it's in a much more mellow environment. Healing that pelvis and slowly getting back to normal is quite slow, particularly for older folks and for overweight folks. If the accident wasn't because of some mistake he made I hope he gets a decent worker's compensation, and if it was something he did then it would support the idea of retirement (from that sort of work anyway) and taking some time off before finding a different job. It sucks that he probably still needs a job because money is tight; same thing happening in most places.
