Cool story. Danny had surgery to disconnect his brain from his limbs and had tiny brains implanted in each of them. He could play five separate rhythms but they made him wear shorts for this show

Guy’s 58 years old doing that. Polyrhythms out the ting yang and that’s only 1 song in a 2 hour show! The guy is known as one of the best ever.

What I find most incredible is his "timing" seems absolutely spot on with the other band members playing. There's not even a slight "hiccup" where you can say "oh. That was a micro-second too early / late". He's on point exactly. Just insane. I think he knew he was having a great night when he cracked that smile towards the end. As if to say "fuck yea !!!"

Apparently size does matter after all. I saw sooo many videos of people either reacting to the video, or trying to play it. The best of the best teachers quickly admitted they could not play it. The covers, from great drummers sounded very bland and way off time in sections. The one guy I saw that could actually do it, sounded perfect for a little bit and kept stopping and complaining he wasn't strong enough. He was saying you have to be very strong to constantly adjust the beat and still be right on time at key moments. I gave it a try. My conclusion, You have to be very freakin strong to make those little sticks do that. I can do it, but only the one song. It would suck to go to a concert just to find out the drummers arms are toast after one son, so no, actually I can;t do it, I don't have the years of experience or the dedication that is required to do that effortlessly. Notice his posture and possition. He moves only the muscles that are required and wow what muscle memory. He is showing what humans are capable of. If you dedicate yourself, you could be even better, like he dedicated himself to be better.

At 6'5" and ripped, Danny can certainly smack those skins. Ten times voted the World's best drummer. Danny & Tool are well known for their change-up in time signatures. If you want one of those cool sounding drum kits, you better be saving up for years. You see the computers beside the drums, included in his kit are electronic drums whereby he can change the tone. This guy is amazing!!!

You as a drummer will be pleased studying some of DC's work :) Tool has also a very awesome discography worth checking out. A pretty unique way of making music. One of these bands where you always know, yep, that's tool.

Great reaction bro, Danny is trained in playing the Finger/Hand Tabla Drums, which he plays with sticks through his electronic Mandala pads, which he can programme pretty much any noise into, watching him incorporate that style of drumming into the standard drum kit is mind blowing!

Guy can play 4 different rhythms at the same time. One with each hand on the tabla and snare, and one with each foot - a simple rhythm with the hi-hat and matching the bass with the kick drum. He's a robot, that's all there is to it.

Also, if you're going to do more Tool in the future, a word of advice: Try and see if you can find mathematical patterns. The entire bridge section he's playing is a pattern flowing into a 5-2 that gradually decreases into a straight 2-2, with his right hand playing one less beat every time. There's no randomness to what he does.
