As an ex-high school marching band woodwind, I can tell you that the drumline holds some immaculate vibes. They have such a different and fun presence than the rest of the band, and they can really get people hyped up. As an ex-high school marching band woodwind, I can tell you that the drumline holds some immaculate vibes. They have such a different and fun presence than the rest of the band, and they can really get people hyped up. Many schools really appreciate their bands, concert or marching, but this school has some serious spirit.

Sorry I’m late to this party. I was part of a marching band a long time ago, let’s say 16 to 20 years ago. Our drum line was as just as talented. However, the “show” in this video is more entertaining than what our drum line was. Kudos to the kiddos and directors for making people interested. I love this video and love that people appreciate musicianship and entertainment. It isn’t as easy as it looks.

@@jmking4943 30 people was a lot considering how small my highschool was. But we went to dozens of competitions and band performances throughout Canada and the United States. We brought home lot of awards those days and as the only flute player I was somehow awarded for something when I graduated. (I can't remember the award name).
I wish my high school was as supportive of the band as Mayo High School is for theirs. It would make being in the band so much nicer. It would totally make performing for my school a lot better to since they would actually watch and respect our performance instead of talking over it. I am super jealous but amazing performance!

From this almost 70 year old retired high school teacher-TRE-MEN-DOUS!!! Made me want to JUMP! Love how you played both sides of the gym too.
My school thought band members were geeks/dorks. The students never really cared for the band members or the music that they played the way they do here, this is so awesome.
imagine your band actually getting any sort of hype... we dont even get to do prep rallys or anything.
Even tho I play flute, drum line has always been my favorite
Solid! I graduated h.s. 37 years ago and I STILL have our h.s. band drum line beats as they marched from the field house out onto the field running thru my head,.
Not only are the lights cool, they are good. Real good.
You know, it kinda amazes me when I see really big bands. This drumline is as big as our entire band. I dont know exactly why this amazes me, for I have been doing competitions for 3 almost 4 years now. But man they gat a lot of support too!
I watched this in my band class and everyone was truly amazed
It's kind of cool seeing these positive comments about my kids' school (my oldest would've been a freshman here). The 3 high schools in Rochester had their annual drumline competition last night as well...I didn't even think our drumline was the best I've seen in the area. haha.
