Really Really Really good video man. I learned a lot from this and then I downloaded the demo of microtonic. I like the sounds a lot better than using samples. The best part about this is the easy tuning of any sound you create. The only problem I have with it is that the volume of each sound fluctuates too much. So, I think I'm going to design my sounds using microtonic and then record them as samples or something.

amazing, i just found out about this plugin and it reminds me very much of the volca drum synth engine. I loved that thing but could not get enough punch out of it for hard hitting, good quality drums. I think this will do the trick

Hi Danny. Thank you for this. Having problems with Waldorf Edition 2 Attack in Windows 10 and getting nowhere with their Support team so started looking for another Drum Soft Synth and voila...I find this one and you doing a demo on it. Please can you do an advanced video of it. G :)

Hi Danny, thanks for this great video. Do you know if it's possible to edit e. g. the velocity of one particular stroke? For example, I'd like to lower down the velocity of one single bassdrum stroke in the fourth pattern of a preset. How can I do that? I haven't found that yet in Microtonic. I know that I can do that via the Midi-data in my DAW, but anyway I'd like to know, if it's possible in Microtonic... Is it? ;)

Just checked out their website after I watched your tutorial' Microtonic seems like an amazing plugin. So yes, please do a more advanced tutorial.

I hate the fact that the percs are never in the same slot, using presets like Planetarium ones. You create a complete drums pattern, switch presets, the kick is now on slot 4, but you have to figure it out first, muting slots one by one to find it. Same with all percs btw. Also i find the kick is almost always too much loud. When you stop the playing, you always have that strange hollow queue sound. I hope we can scale up the vst in the near future too. Just my thoughts, Microtonic is great.

"..Who would have thought you could make a kick drum out of noise." Well, that is basically how an oscillator works in the analog world. You create a feedback loop in an amplifier circuit and filter the feedback to control the ringing frequency. It's just amplifying filtered noise that turns into a ringing.

Does anyone know how to get Micro Tonic to record in Garageband? I open it as an AU, play it, effect it, etc, but the audio isn't laid down when I record. It's weird and annoying.

No more drum samples.

Why bother? put ATLAS after it to receive the MIDI, and you have ENDLESS AI randomly generated drum kits... either from any single shot .WAVs (tons FREE out there, or any sample pack from Looperman, Sounds, or Primeloops, etc., or from a SPLICE membership) or LIFTED from any drum loop with Geist2 or Regroover Pro.
