Drum Sander Build - Final - Part 5

In this video I continue building my 28" drum sander with lifting drum. In this part I finished conveyor, added dust collection system, connected all electrical components and painted my drum sander. This is the last part in this project, watch all parts here:

Genius design, I have been trying to come up with a drum lifter design like yours as I don't like all the hardware required to make one with a table lift. I will be copying most of your design as I already have the table and belt system constructed from treadmill parts. Thank you for sharing this is one of the best I have ever seen.

Excellent job Gregory. The only extra thing I suggest is covering the belt traverse chain. You wouldn’t want a youngster poking their fingers inside the sprocket and chain and damaging their fingers. Otherwise an inspiring piece of work. Well done.

Nice sander, great job building it. I've enjoyed watching your videos since day one, when one of yours was suggested to me by KZread. This project is no different, an enjoyable journey from start to finish, and I too can't wait to see what wonders you will produce from your new 3 fase workshop. Like Peter Marsh said, make a guard to prevent possible accidents and cover that chain.

just subscribed! very good work. You can opt for a replacement electric screwdriver motor as an option to the windshield wiper (I think it will better support the load) and the teeth are very cheap and are cemented (the one that sells the chain usually has). Thanks again and for countries like mine where machinery in dollars is very expensive, having a documented manufacturing guide is an incentive.

In addition to the missing cover of the belt (a safety issue) the belt is oscillating. If you want to prevent damage you should fix that problem. May be you have to install an idler pulley.
