I think every job has a dark side to ‘it’ and the glamour industry is always in the light for these things. At the end of the day is just another job to give you that pay check....and if u don’t simply do what u have been told, then u lose it. You have the power to take another path if you choose to😌. Some people are not just suited for it, not every tall skinny woman, has the potential to be model, and that’s fine....coz there is a lot more to deal with, in this industry

Hmmm...I've been modeling here in Los Angeles for about five years, and have never experienced any of this. I am with Elite Model Management, and they do a wonderful job of nurturing and protecting me. I of course, have many friends I've met through the industry, and have never heard of sexual abuse. There's a lot of bad people who claim to be photographers and agents who will simply take advantage of young girls, but nobody legit is abusing anyone or giving them drugs. Again, I've been in this industry for five years now (I support myself and make a living by modeling) and have never seen this crap. You need to avoid the wrong people. Make sure you're signing with a legit agency like Elite, Next or Whilemena. Elite encourages me to stay FIT, not thin. Meaning, they don't tell me to starve myself, but to make sure I'm working out at the gym to keep my muscle. It's part of the job. So Kara, I'm not sure what you've seen, but perhaps you're in a part of the industry that's not legit. Again, there's many people who will pretend they are for real, just to take advantage of girls whether its steeling their money, or abusing them. Get yourself a legit agent and this crap won't happen.

I was severely underweight when I was a kid due to a digestive disorder that I’m still struggling with. People told me they wished they were skinny like me and that I should be a model. Then, when I finally got control of my body weight again, I gained back the pounds I needed (with the help of a dietitian) and now I’m the weight I need to be to donate blood (although my iron count is low and I need to get that back up). My ribs are no longer visible. I can stand for longer periods of time. I’m no longer in constant pain. However, people keep telling me that I need to lose weight or that I used to look so pretty. Or “what would the boys think?” I don’t care what those people say. It took me a damn long time to get my weight up. I’m 125 pounds (the minimum weight to donate blood is 120) and I used to have a low BMI. They keep telling me “oh but you need to lose ten more pounds! Get out of the triple digits” like? Go away? You’re not a dietitian. These are my aunts saying this too. They take my mom (who is overweight due to birthing seven children and taking a medicine that causes weight gain) and say that I’m gonna be like her if I don’t lose weight. These are people who own nightclubs. None of them are doctors. I’m studying medicine right now and making sure to watch what I eat so I can maintain my weight while avoiding heart attack territory. I’m proud of my weight. Anyone else who thinks I’m overweight can fuck off.

I went to school with someone who's come very far in the modeling industry. There is a lot of parties and a lot of drugs, and even when she was stick thin and probably had the tiniest body I knew compared to her height, she was still told to drop so and so in weight before an important fashion show. I mean... it seems hard as hell, especially if you aim for high fashion, and the industry is still brutal, but I think the most important thing is to have your wits with you and a stable network of friends and family. I think eating disorders and a hectic lifestyle is the real killer, so being balanced and taking care of yourself is important.

As a young girl, I used to dream of being in show business but after watching so many documentaries and news stories of how so many lives were ruined by the industry, I'm so glad that I ditched those dreams when I became an adult. I still LOVE entertainment but I'm content with just being a fan. I write fan fiction and fantasize about being with certain celebrities and I'm absolutely fine with that. Being a wealthy, famous celebrity isn't as glamorous as it seems as there's many pressures and temptations that many people can't resist. If you put out a public image that isn't really you, people will assume that that's really who you are. NEVER allow people to change your true self because it will eat you alive

nicki kecki victoria secret models were pregnant in the past. theyre just as skinny. just because someone seems petite or skinny, that doesnt mean they dont have the organs and stability to be pregnant.

Nicki D eating disorders destroy your organs and your body, but that doesn't mean you can't get pregnant at all. Usually, when you're really skinny and extremely underweight, you don't even get your period anymore, cause your body is only focused on keeping you alive and it doesn't have the strength to carry a baby, but it can happen that you get your period once you eat at least enough for some of your organs to work. She was very skinny and weak, so she would've probably lost the baby later.

it happens sometimes. even you don't have your period anymore you can get pregnant. but it is not said that an emaciated body is able to keep the child until it's big enough and able to survive or even delivered healthy....and for those who don't know... any unborn child works most likely as a parasite in its mothers body- means if a women doesn't eat properly the fetus will starve the mother as far as possible taking all nutrients, leaving the mother with a lack of nutrients to the point she suffers severe damage....
