Akil K Musawwir indeed. People say it’s peaceful but it’s not. I experienced it first hand but was lucky enough to be saved by my brother who was twice my size at the time. The only way I can explain it is if you were burning from the inside out. Your lungs feel like they are melting from the lack of oxygen, your body gets heavy from the intake of water, and damn, the feeling of being helpless.

As somebody who was 90 seconds away from drowning, being submerged in water for over 20 minutes not being able to swim while suffering from hypothermia this is incredibly accurate- well I'm not so sure about the part where he hallucinates and drowns because I never got to that part but you do instinctively struggle and swim. Your mind is only focused on getting out and getting help. It is impossible to focus or think rationally. Your muscles lock up from the freezing temperatures and you can't feel the lower part of your body after some time. You also swallow a lot of water while trying to breathe, making it even harder to breathe and it makes you feel incredibly nauseous, giving you a very painful headache. This was incredibly difficult for me to watch as I have pretty severe hydrophobia. I was just curious what would've happened if I lost the strength in my body and drowned.

Almost drowned last month and got to the stage of experiencing hallucinations, let me tell you, this is very accurate, I don't really have trauma about it but remembering the silence of the water, where the only thing I could hear was my muffled screams and the only thing I was able to see were blurry images is not the most pleasent thing, you don't really have many rational thoughts when drowning, one of my last rational thoughts was "so this is how I die", after that, all I could think of was trying to breathe and a big mix of random things and memories, I got to live again, it felt like decades being underwater, I got lucky and got saved in time, turns out I only stayed in water for about 4 minutes, it felt a lot longer, maybe like 20. My advice to you is to stay safe, you never know if you'll get lucky like I did, don't go swimming by yourself, even if you know how to swim, which was my case, I was phisicaly exausted and my body gave in while I was swimming, resulting on me sinking, pay attention to the depht of the pool or don't go too far if you're gonna swim in the ocean.

My dad passed away from getting drowned deep in the ocean (their boat went missing, there were 10 of them but all 9 survived except for my dad. so we could still listen to their stories of holding onto life before he got swept away separating him from the rest of the guys) and it’s been 2 months now. i’ve been watching this video every now and then to experience and to know what it was like for him amidst drowning. In the span of time we were patiently waiting during the search and rescue operation, I couldn’t stop thinking how lonely it must’ve been for him. how terrifying it must’ve been. The search went on and the locals nearby found him floating on the 6th day of the SAR operation.

Charles killed our protagonist for his wife to bang later, reason why is that if you survive a bit longer at around 5 minutes or so, there’s a little scene you can see Charles waving goodbye to our dying protagonist with a sinister smile and maybe the other hallucinations are vision’s or the future that our protagonist’s wife was attacked in the bed by Charles because she know the truth, this simulator is about life jackets but it should be more “careful who you should bring” or “careful who you would trust”.

The one big mistake he made was trying to swim. Where was he going to swim to? He certainly wasn't going to catch up to the boat and certainly not within swimming distance of any land. I think his best bet was to either tread or float and stay put. I assume his friend would eventually be able to circle around and was able to contact coast guard from the boat. I also think a life vest would have drastically increased his odds of surviving because it would prevent his body from being totally submerged in the cold water

Honestly he shares some of the blame for his own death; not wearing lifejackets and out of the two people going on this boat trip apparently only one of them knows how to drive the boat. Also lifejackets are normally made in bright colors exactly for situations like this so you can find someone who fell over, some even have led lights to identify people at night. But I guess that's exactly what they were trying to say with this ad.

I went snorkeling off the coast of Honduras this year. It was my first time snorkeling, I have a life vest, flippers, and a snorkel. It was also a guided tour with 3 guides (2 in the water with us and 1 in the boat nearby). I'm not the strongest swimmer but all things considered I thought I'd be alright. Well after some time in the water I started to struggle and I began to panic a little. I was surrounded by people, there were eyes on me, and my husband was right next to me and he's a great swimmer. So I tried to relax I I lay flat on the water surface and tried to adjust to breathing in the snorkel. I tried for 2 minutes to calm down but couldn't. I was bobbing under the surface frequently (the vest was one of the vests you blow air into and I hadn't filled it up all the way). I was going to swim back to the boat but when I turned to find it, it was much further away from me than I expected due to my drifting. My husband held me up a bit for support and we called the guides who were there in seconds with a floaty that I could lay on top of. The way the boat quickly moves away from the guy in this game after he falls in reminds me of that awful experience and makes this game so much more terrifying than when I first saw someone play it.

You tumble in and exhaust yourself within 10-15 minutes. It depends on where you are whether you will be surrounded by dangerous animals and how quickly hypothermia will set in. Eventually, your finger and toe nails will peel, causing an excruciating dry and burning sensation. Some people may begin hallucinating during the struggle. Are you still alive? how unfortunate. You would have survived if not longer than the others...but your stamina is rapidly deteriorating. You eventually become completely numb and your head sinks in completely. You'll be free of this nightmare soon. Regardless of how long you've been alive, the pain in your lungs is excruciating. No one can, and no one will, save you. The level of pain is decreasing. Goodnight.
